Since all of the screens in our home are 16:9, I guess that's my answer.

Yeah for sure 16:9 currently, on a 50 inch 3D plasma. However..

I have a big wishlist to have a 120" (or larger if possible) scope 2.35:1 projector screen and (naturally) projector - zoomed to fit the area. And just have 1.78:1 content centered within that fixed frame area. So it would be almost 100 inch in 16:9 projection and I'd like to have side masking close in to border it off.

Until that magical day, its HDTV for me

I use my tv for all aspect ratio's....Directv HD and Blu's.
Sony Bravia KDL46HX750 LED/3D Tv.
Sony BDP S590 Blu Ray Player.
Pioneer HTP-071 Surround Sound System.
