Definitely want at least 1 wiimote. I'd recommend 2 wiimote+ but I don't think I've used a nunchuk yet. Get one just in case

Interesting thing is that I bought a black Wii U branded WiiMote Plus hoping it would have the external button to sync but it was the older style with the sync button under the battery cover. Also didn't have the nub on the wrist strap clasp, either. Is that a special SKU or only available in certain color(s)?

I also had to go to 4 different Gamestops to find one since everyone with a Wii U Deluxe is apparently buying those. :\

no tvii update here it seems like Nintendo Tvii is a US/Canada only feature for the foreseeable future.

Yes you need extra controllers/nunchuks. I also bought rechargeable battery packs for the controllers.

Maybe one of those Nerf covers for the game pad? God forbid if it gets dropped. Screen cover for the game pad.

I still don't get that. The tablet controller is supposed to be a defining feature of the console but they aren't sold separately and you can't have two players use them at once. Another annoyance is that you cannot use a pro controller to play New Super Mario U. A second player has to use the motion controller sideways to play, which is a horrible way to play. It's very unfomfortable. Nintendo really failed miserably with their controller planning on the Wii U.

Following the release of Nano Assault Neo, developer Shin’en will continue its support of the Wii U eShop. The studio said that Neo only “scratched the surface”, with two more projects planned. Shin’en is currently working on a game “in the racing genre”. A sequel to WiiWare’s FAST – Racing League, perhaps?

And speaking of Nano Assault Neo, it’s one of the company’s “fastest selling games ever”. Shin’en will bring its first update to the downloadable title soon, which Manfred Linzner says “will fix a display problem in the online rankings, and a minor issue when the GamePad does disconnect.”

“We’ve already submitted a first patch to Nintendo that will fix a display problem in the online rankings, and a minor issue when the GamePad does disconnect. To our knowledge there are no restrictions in such updates by Nintendo.”

it was delayed til early 2013 for other countries. that didnt get it yet.

I was at Target today and they had a buy 2 get one free on all Wii U games deal. Not a bad deal if there are 3 games you want.

Really hope GTAV comes to Wii U by spring. Most likely I'll end up with PS3 for the trophies and PSN since I know I won't be able to hold out for the PC release (though that will likely be my "main" playthrough).

I know Nintendo wanted it out for this year's holidays, but given the paltry list of release titles and lack of general advertising outside the niche gamer and kid audiences, Wii U so far is getting its butt kicked compared with the other platforms, even by Wii.

If anyone is having issues setting the Tvii, then make sure you have linked your cable box to your Wii U.

This process can be done for the main settings>Tv remote.

I agree! I set up a Wii U for a friend today and the first-hand experience with the setup was terrible! I couldn't connect to my wifi and I had to put everything including DNS and IP in manual!

Why are people under the false illusion that video game consoles typically have a good launch lineup? Anyone expecting a great launch lineup from the next Microsoft and Sony consoles are probably deluding themselves.

Here was the PS3 launch lineup in the U.S. I own over 120 PS3 retail games but only two from this lousy list of launch titles.
