I've been following your thread so I know another sub is on the back burner until you get the stand, wall mount for your TV and finishing getting your living-room the way you want it.

get some blue tack or earthquake putty and put it under your blu-ray player and it will hold the player in place.

I got the Mirage HT 5.1 bundle system, with two additional rear surrounds for a 7.1 setup. The sound that comes out of these is absolutely incredible. I have had, in the past, two different Bose Acoustimas systems, and a pieced together Infinty system. This setup blows the other three right out of the water. They look stunning, and sound unimaginable. I'm a new user here, so I don't have any pics of my system yet but it will be coming soon.

The only, and I mean *only*, draw back (and only because I do not know enough about the intricacies), is I cannot figure out the best settings for the MM-6 bass. Between the volume level, power mode, phase, and filter... I feel like I am constantly fiddling with them.

I'm not familiar with the MM-6 sub, perhaps someone here has had some experience with it and will be able to give you some feedback.

My issue with the settings is that it either sounds too boomy and overpowering in scenes with heavy bass (parts of Inception, Lord of the Rings, etc), or seems to weak in the same scenes. I have tinkered with different settings, I know that the volume is relative, but the other two (phase, filter) I have 0 idea about where they should be. The AV is THX certified, and came with an Endussy (sp?) calibration microphone and is setup using their calibration tool so the surrounds and speaker settings are perfect. The sub is the only issue.

Hopefully I'm correct in my advice, but you subs crossover should be set to out so your receiver is handling your subs bass, , after you run Audyssey the volume can be manually set from you main listening position with a SPL meter if you have one (RadioShack)fronts and surround speakers at 75 decibels, center and sub. maybe 78. The phase can be set 0 or 180 whatever sounds best to you.

Position, position and position . First where are your subs located? Secondly...how big is your room? Do you have openings to your room? Could you post a layout of your system...that would help a lot . There are many people here willing to offer advice and help.

I just posted a new thread showing off my HT and collection. The sub is currently situated to the right of the equipment stand with phase set to about the 2pm spot. The Onkyo automatically set the crossover at 80hz (THX).

I manually changed to speaker volume output from the receiver a few clicks above what the recommended, and the surround a few more than they recommended only because I like to hear a more "background" field while watching a movie. I know some would cringe, but there are times when it was set through Audessey that the surrounds barely produced any noise unless there was an explosion or gunfire. I kind of like having a little ambient noise back there, so I raised the volume on those just a smidgen. Then to compensate, I raised the volume on all other channels a smidge as well.

If you are using a single sub, your phase should be set at 0. Phase is used when there are multiple subs in your system.
