now Circuit City went back to MSRP they have Prestige for $35 same with borders. Just price match other stores one store is gonna have it less no matter what just get them to match that

Blu ray prices are coming down IMO. Just got into blu ray this year( actually 5 mos ago) and eventually they will get cheaper. Part of the fun in buying blus is looking for good deals. my girlfriend works for disney and every year she is able to purchase blu rays for $8.

Buy them on Amazon. They usually have cheaper prices, and sometimes they have sales on Blu-Ray -- like certain titles for $14, or two-for-one deals. When the retail shops continue to lose customers, maybe they'll learn their lesson.

This is ridiculous to me. As a consumer I purchase anywhere from 3 to 7 movies a week depending upon what is released. This is exactly what I was thinking as I read this! I was wondering why no one had mentioned this.

I recently caught myself skipping Wanted at Wally world because it was $30! I knew I could get it elsewhere for $20. Instead I bought two of the $10 BDs there and went home happy.
I guess the OP thought he's start a war of words or something and is disappointed people are actually offering him helpful ideas. Hence his lack of response. Oh well, on with the bargain hunting!

It's weird to think that Blu-rays used to be sold for retail price, and DVDs for $19.99!

I remember paying $14.99 for Spy Kids on VHS when I was a kid (day one purchase- I also had a system of knowing when movies would be released on home video at that age).

The answer to all this is simple... eBay. I can't tell you how many brand new & sealed movies I have gotten for $3-10.

I have almost 124 blu-rays... And I haven't even payed anything close to $1000!

I understand your frustration, but would definitely recommend you use all of the resources available on this great site.... I have amassed a collection of almost 500 movies, and on average have paid 7.54 per movie....

Not sure exactly where you have to shop, but even with new releases, between the main big box stores and online, you should never have to pay over $28 for a new release, unless it's a box set, tv series, collector's edition, or some niche seller (ala. Twilight Time)

Same here I ended coming home with 20 movies highest single BD was around $10.99

Where have you gotten these deals? I'm so afraid to buy from ebay because of getting shoddy products! I want to know because I would really like to replace my DVD's with BR, but with shoddy deals and some dvd's having extras that BRs do not and vice versa... it makes collecting difficult. On black Friday most of my movies I get locally from Walmart or Best Buy online I get them from Amazon.

If you get a fake product ebay will give you a full refund. Even though out of the hundreds of blu-rays and Dvds I have won, this has only happened once or twice.
