Default Replica Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer)

I've been a member on the RPF (Replica Prop Forum) for a while, and posted a work in progress thread for my Thor hammer that I was making at the time, which was about two months ago. I have a lot of boring, repetitive progress shots, but I'll skip those to show the final product:

The handle is silver painted turned wood wrapped in leather links that I hand cut and punched to lace them together. The head is from a cheap $6 toy that I reworked, filled with expanding foam (for weight), and painted in a gun metal finish. Nice thing about the paint is that since it contains real metal, I could buff it or sand it or polish it or essentially treat it just like metal. It weighs about 5 pounds and is probably 16 inches long. Thanks for checking it out!

Wow, that's pretty sweet! Great job!

Could you post some more pics of it, different angles and in some better lighting maybe? Also, did you put the scripture on the other side?

That's cool! My 2 year old son calls it hammer-burger

What do the inscribed runes say on the actual prop?

Marvel has been pretty good with their continuity with Mjolnir's various renditions over the years. It reads, "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor." And on the prop, it's actually on the top of the hammer. I'll dig around for some more pictures, and I'll post them up!

Bring on the pics! Also, didn't the comic version have a handle at the tip?
