No mate, the blanket came standard with the Totoro and Fireflies release. The white board came with Kiki.

I went half with CDJapan, half Amazon JP.

Very much depends really! I am one of the most picky collectors you'll ever meet. What I class as damage most people would class as mint.

What you have to remember about these things is that they are made of hard cardboard. That alone gives rise to wear over time. I did have to sell off some items that I wasn't happy with, but in the end I have got a superb condition set now.

It's all about the films afterall isn't it?

Shit, almost forgot. If you are planning on buying just 1 of these, DO NOT use Amazon JP as they send them in a pathetic cardboard packet. Use CDJ as they ship in extremely sturdy boxes.

Was excited to see that Film4 would be showing Arrietty on Sunday 30th December, 4.55pm. But then I started seeing adverts showing that it would be the English dub, fingers crossed they air it again later in Japanese.

Yikes!

I went online this morning to buy Castle of Cagliostro and found it had leaped from it's pre-Christmas price of £17 to £24 at Amazon, Play and HMV.

So much for post Christmas sales.

damn it i want to own the the JP sets but first and formost im a dub fan so it has to have a dub and 2nd those sets cost alot more then the dub sets

Most of the Japanese editions contain both dub and sub, where as all of the the UK/US have dub and sub.

i know its pretty much a deal breaker , that and well the fact that they don't include alt dubs in any of the sets is also a deal breaker

The Japanese sets include lots of alternate dubs and subs.
Since Studio Canal UK only has the UK rights, they can only include English as the alternate dub.

Hey all. Long time lurker first time poster. Been a huge Ghibli fan for a good few years. Use this forum regularly for the new releases. Thought I'd say hi.
I heard on a different forum that a UK release of Grave of the Fireflies was cancelled. Heard back from Studio Canal today. They said:

Thanks for the update Sighmon, really does sound like they held this back to release with the next title here - Poppy Hill hopefully? Although, we've also got Kiki and Only Yesterday to get up-to-date with before the next wave of Japanese releases...

Feels like Canal have plenty of films to catch up on this year!
