In no particular order but if I had a favorite for 2012, it has to be Kanye West's compilation album. I haven't bought much hip-hop music so I can't list 5.
Cruel Summer - G.O.O.D. Music Nas - Life is Good The Roots - Undun (December 2011) Lupe Fiasco - Food & Liquor 2 |

Nas - Life is Good (first 6 songs were great, then it fell all the way off) DJ Khaled - Kiss the Ring (with so many incredible features it's a shame this didn't live up to what it could have been) Maybach Music Group - Self Made 2 (I might gotta listen to this again cause people been saying it's dope but again, after the first compilation was so good I was let down by this) Meek Mill - Dreamchasers 2 (again...the first one was one of the best mixtapes when it dropped, the follow up was dope but not nearly as good) |

Whatever This coming from a person who had Chris Brown's Fortune as his best albums of the year. That album was ungodly horrific man. Your taste in hip hop and music in general are pretty bad so this is no surprise.

What is your opinion on "rich kids" listening to rap/hip-hop music and bringing those themes to their lives?

The real list...
The Alchemist - Russian Roulette The Alchemist goes beyond his comfort zone and heavily relies on random voice samples in the production. I have a feeling DJ Shadow's fans would like this one. Quakers - Quakers Three producers get together with lots of notable rappers, on this release from Stones Throw Records. La Coka Nostra - Masters Of The Dark Arts Everlast gets dropped from La Coka Nostra and they turn out an even better album. Vinnie Paz - God Of The Serengeti Horrible name for an album, but Vinnie's second solo album improves in every way from his first solo. Disappointment of the year... Sean Price - Mic Tyson Uninspired lyrics and hooks, over very average beats. |

I think if not for those "rich kids" then most of these artists would be broke.... "We dont care if it's true when we lay the money down We don't believe the words, we just love the way they sound They're acting like we're idiots, They're lying to our face Maybe we are idiots, we buy it anyway"
