I don't know how you can't recognize this is just as obnoxious to some members as apparently people not using the search function is to you. Or say, someone spamming threads with oh so super "hilarious" fake motivational posters might to be to someone else.

To be fair, only two of those are general discussion thread about the combo packs, like this one. Most of them are rereleases of combos, lists of combos, or the hate f the combo pack threads(at least as the title of the thread goes).

I wish they'd leave the DVD out and charge $2-3 bucks less for the title. (Assuming a combo pack is the only way the title is offered). I have no desire to watch DVDs anymore.

This Christmas I gave away a ton of DVD copies from Blu combo packs to my various siblings and their kids. Otherwise, I have zero need for them and they're just taking up space in my closet.

I mean you usually get 3 movies: a Blu-ray, a DVD, and a Digital Copy for the price of one.

Of course, it's an added bonus. Who wouldn't want something extra? It's good to have in case my PS3 explodes or I go somewhere without a bd player handy. Plus in the back of my mind I'm always thinking just in case the machines take over like in Terminator, it would be good to have my DVD collection if the only disc players left in the world that work happen to be DVD only. What if I'm an island like in Cast Away with my collection and only a DVD player? These are things we cannot know!

I disagree.

I like having DVD's with my BD discs. Having a DVD is great when I'm traveling - I can put the DVD in my laptop and watch the DVD version of a movie on a long flight. My laptop doesn't have a BD drive.

And having the DVD version of a film is great when I'm visiting relatives out of town who don't have BD players. Every single one of them has a DVD player.

I like them. Often if I buy a DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack, the DVD copy is free for other people in my house to use who generally prefer it because its more accessible to them. I personally have no use for it, but its good to have for that reason.

Having only one BR player in my household (my PS3), the DVDs come in handy when I want to watch a movie but can't on BR. Digital copies on the other hand, I have no use for them.
