Oh yeah, I also replaced my Sony Blu-ray mega changers (the 7000ES) with an Oppo 103 because the mega changers jammed 2 times in less than 2 years. I got sick of taking them out of the rack, removing my movies and then sending it in to be fixed. My old pioneer doesn't play all the movies now a days. No more updates.
Those are some nice upgrades dib2! I must admit I know next to nothing about streaming audio, NAS and/or DAC's, but it seems that many audiophiles are moving into that direction. When are you expecting to take delivery of your new Bryston gear?

Rich, those are some serious planned upgrades!
Yep! Although we'll see this time next year how many (if any!) of the planned upgrades actually come to fruition... ;-)

Yep, I'll be at CES. Not interested in investing any more $$$ into digital though, because I have only so much $$$ to spare and I'd rather put that towards improving my analogue system. (Although I do have plans for a smaller system that will double as a home theatre...)

I could never "get" the Wilson mystique. I heard the Audio Watt Pupps many moons ago and it sounded so disjointed. It was in a well treated room powered by Classe Mono Blocks and Separates. But to each his own I guess... There are plenty of speakers in the 20-50k range, each having their own strength and weaknesses. I do like the Magico Q5 and the Dynaudio Consequence UE but I know it's more than 50k and it requires an amp with a lot of balls to power them...
Yeah, there's definitely lots of interesting choices in the $50K level, and I'll certainly be auditioning as many of them as I can when I'm closer to being able to put down the cash.

Should be here in about a week or 2. The Bryston gear doesn't stream music but it allows you to use USB drives or connect a SSD drive internally or externally. Right now I have a 1.5 TB mechanical HDD (2 x 750 in raid 0 2.5") connected via USB. I think that they gave in on the BDP-2 and allow you to stream via DLNA but I don't know if that is to or from. I have no interest in trying to stream one way or the other. Just being able to put a 512 GB SSD inside is a plus but I am going to wait since SSD's have a limited life.

The cool thing is that the bryston uses MPD (Music Player Daemon) which is open source so I can create my own app to control the device or use any app out there already.

Savvy listening. Probably because Wilson sources its drivers from other companies and doesn't design its own, and also doesn't use an anechoic chamber to test its products. You should see the measurements on its new 200k flagship. Stereophile just reviewed them in the same issue as a $600 Aperion bookshelf that, short of bass extension, actually measured better than the Wilson! Shocking stuff. That said there are a lot of great speakers to be had under 50k. Revel, Dynaudio, Magico, Vivid, Focal to name just a few...

If all goes well (e.g. no lightning strikes, etc.) I won't be spending anything on audio equipment this year.

Ascend Sierra Tower (With Raal maybe . Basically the only reason i havent bought them yet)

Ascend Horizon Center (with raal maybe)
2 x Ascend 200 or 170's

Only thing holding me back is deciding to use raal tweeters or not.
