Ouch! I must admit it was quite slow paced..but i thought the movie was quite relaxing and enjoyable to watch.

The 3D was sensational though..still one of the best.

The movie was super slow and at times got really boring. What saved it for me was the ending which I felt was magical. Unfortunately, until then, I kept waiting for something to happen. Nothing ever did. I first saw this on video. Maybe it would have been different in the theaters, more enjoyable.

Garbage? Heck no! One of the greatest ever? No to that too. Consider it a movie about the making of movies and understand the magic of early Hollywood. But don't expect to be on the edge of your seat. Oh, and bring the caffeinated coffee. You'll need it. Just don't miss the ending. That was the one point in the entire movie I smiled and felt good for having seen the movie.

This has got to be one of the top 3d movies to date. The 3d is beyond amazing in this. I think the movie is actually pretty good too but that doesn't surprise me since its directed by Scorsese.

Picked up Hugo 3D on Amazon.. I had just got back home from all that store hopping and told myself no more.. Well i could not resist the $12 on the 3D version I missed the last sell and it went back up to $29 but I got this one as fast as I could.

It was amazing after I placed my order you could watch the remaining in stock keep going down on each refresh.. crazy!

So if the 3D is that good in this, why did this site give it 3.5 stars ? I've seen crappier 3D movies get higher than that on here.

Martin Liebman reviews based on what he sees with his setup.

In his review, he complains about heavy, heavy crosstalk.
But crosstalk is not inherent to a disc's transfer. Crosstalk happens when your display or glasses cant block out one of the eyes from the other so you see a double image.

I hate when people complain about crosstalk in professional reviews since its usually a case where the 3D is really really strong too. For example, My Bloody Valentine would probably be seen as one of the best... If people didn't have issues with crosstalk. My tv uses a system that makes crosstalk impossible.

Thanks! I just ordered it from Amazon. I keep hearing good things about the 3D so that's why I was stunned about the review. If reviewers don't have the proper equipment, they shouldn't review technical specs of a movie IMO. It doesn't give a proper opinion.

Agreed. I just recently watched Hugo on my DLP W7000 BenQ projector which does not show crosstalk and HUGO looked excellent. Strong 3d.

3D home setups are just now coming out of their infancy. The first consumer Blu-ray 3D wasn't available for purchase until March 2010. i.e. Consumer 3D media will be 3 years old this March! People had to initially experience video quality from their first-generation 3D setups and only then, after a lucky few got their hands on discrete 3D devices which displayed separate right & left images, did they realize that artifacts that were experienced on home displays were not from the encodes or what was authored on the particular BD 3D disc. The word went out. Reviewers were rightfully skeptical not knowing the credibility of the inquisitive enthusiasts as a source. Now it has become common knowledge that professionally authored BD 3D discs are pristine; The quality viewed from a 2D source of the same media is equal in all aspects to the quality of a 3D version counterpart, ghosting and crosstalk free, any variance the result from initial inception components of a setup.

I guess I was missing the 3D in the "Best picture" part. It seems like this movie was also if not more meant for 3D along with its story telling. Believe me I really wanted to like this movie but I found it boring. It has great writing and a message to it however but it's not one that I intend to watch again. Good thing I bought the 3D combo pack for $15.00. Seeing how I don't see ourselves getting a 3D TV anytime soon, I'm already planning on selling it.
