Any recommendations for movies with sociopaths (or sociopath traits)? I really enjoy watching the following characters, for example:
Daniel Plainview: There Will be Blood Anton Chigurh: No Country for Old Men (Didn't really like the movie though) Sebastian Valmont: Cruel Intentions Jacob Palmer: Crazy, Stupid, Love I'm really looking towards movies with characters like Daniel Plainview and Anton Chigurh, whereas they are straight talkers and to the point, whose lives are governed by intellect and not emotions, and do not have overly exaggerated personalities. |

Dude, don't be an idiot and try to dismantle my thread because of your fascination focused on movie characters I like to watch. Either please provide some sensible recommendation(s) or go run along and play somewhere else.
And thanks fellow members' for the input. However, any suggestions focused on characters who are driven more by intelligence and less emotional behavior (such as anger, rage, and violence) than the previous recommendations is encouraged. Last edited by gotexas872; 01-03-2013 at 06:35 PM. |

Way too in love with each other and caring about each other to consider them sociopaths.
I'll go ahead and say Blue Velvet Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer Halloween American Psycho Ted Bundy We Need To Talk About Kevin The Night of the Hunter Man Bites Dog Zodiac In The Company Of Men The Devil's Advocate There Will Be Blood Dahmer Primal Fear Cruel Intentions The Deliberate Stranger A Clockwork Orange 10 Rillington Place Reservoir Dogs Cape Fear The Boston Strangler Snowtown The Usual Supsects And, as played for laughs, I am a fan of Dennis Reynolds from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Anyways, excellent idea for a topic.

I think I'd have to say Tim Roth as Cunningham in Rob Roy. Talk about sociopath...

I don't know the difference between a sociopath and a psychopath, but the following films have some loony characters in them!
The Third Man (Harry Lime) Great Expectations (Miss Havisham) Kind Hearts and Coronets (Louis Mazzini) Trainspotting (Begbie) The Ladykillers (Professor Marcus) Brighton Rock (Pinkie Brown) Hamlet (King Claudius) Peeping Tom (Mark Lewis)
Blu-ray wish list: Far from the Madding Crowd, Maurice, Performance, The Remains of the Day, Ryan’s Daughter and Wuthering Heights (1939).
