I pre-ordered this (3D combo version) from Amazon.com back with the $8 coupon, which basically just eliminates the silly shipping charge. The pre-order price has dropped $5 since then, but still sitting at around $35 US, assuming I don't get any of the duty/tax estimated amount back (otherwise it would be about $30 US).
Still showing as $41.99 on Amazon.ca and DMC is/was advertising it for $36.95 - each before taxes, of course. Wondering if anyone has seen any better prices (must be the 3D combo)? Considering just canceling the .com order and waiting for a sale later in the year; this is not a required Day 1 purchase for me as there does not appear to be any limited edition version (ie. Futureshop steelbook) being made. Anyone else having the same decision?

Yep, I'm in the same boat... pretty much have till Sunday to cancel the .com if it doesn't drop any more by then. Wait for it to hit $30 at Walmart or something, maybe a half off purchase through DMC later in the year?
It doesn't even include a lenticular slip cover, so I'm not really in a rush to own it either.

Yeah, might just end up waiting, and hope to catch a trade-and-save event with US Best Buy later in the year. Last summer I picked up a bunch of 3D titles for $15 each after the trade (and I bought them in NH, so no sales tax). Otherwise, it will probably be on sale in Canada by Halloween

I also cancelled mine over the weekend. The $8 coupon only covered the shipping, so still would be paying $27.99 + duty/tax estimate + exchange. I am just going to wait for it to go on sale later in the year.

No DMR coupons for this one. No promos. TRU does not have a flyer and I checked Disney Movie Club if there is any offers, nothing. I think I will wait for DMC on this one. $41 is too steep for me. |

This doesn't really concern a deal, but since this is a thread for Frankenweenie in Canada... does anyone know if Best Buy Canada is stocking the exclusive lenticular slipcover? I visited my local Future Shop today to make this week's purchases, and was unpleasantly surprised by the lenticular-less slipcover they had in stock (those combo packs are surprisingly ugly without the lenticular image attached).

I passed on getting this when it first came out thinking the price would drop. Then it went up. Now BestBuy has the Blu-ray Combo for $29.99 which is still not exactly a deal.
But I know it's been mentioned before that Disney rarely ever lowers the prices on their animated films even months later. Would I be fairly safe in getting this for $29.99 without it dropping to $10 a few months from now? I'd like to own it, just not desperate right away. |

The only Disney titles that ever go to $10 are the lesser ones, mostly from the early 2000s. Chicken Little, Dinosaur, The Wild and more recently Home on the Range on Boxing Day. If you don't care about slipcovers or the DVD, keep a look-out at http://www.bluraybin.com or if you have one in your area Jumbo Video. You might be able to get a stand-alone BR disc for $12.99 or $14.99. Or you can build up 5-7 Disney titles you want and wait for them to be put on Disney Movie Club. It would make them all work out to $17-20 each after shipping. Frankenweenie will be on there eventually. Last edited by Corey31; 02-25-2013 at 10:51 PM. |

Yes, Frankenweenie is one of their major new release titles. The next similar A-list title in line for release is 'Wreck It Ralph'. Others (like say 'Home on the Range') are old catalog titles.

Frankenweenie was just released today in the UK, so if you don't care about the DVD and you're willing to wait 1-3 weeks for delivery, the blu-ray can be had for around $25 CDN shipped from Amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Frankenweeni.../dp/B00742SWSY |
