Does anyone have a 50 inch that hasn't given them any trouble? (Presumably that you've owned for awhile?)
I'm asking because my Toshiba decided to quit working after 4 months -- it's still under warranty and so far they've already checked all the plugs and installed a new motherboard, but the problem persists (picture/sound go out, sometimes won't reboot after being unplugged). I'll try and get it fixed (ha) but at this point, I'm thinking I'll need to buy another TV when my remaining six month warranty is up. (I hope I can get Best Buy to get me an in-store exchange but with their 30 day return policy, I'm guessing -- nope.) Anyone have any luck with getting a refund for a defective TV from the company it came from? Or, for that matter, from the store after 30 days? More importantly, since Amazon seems to be flooded with both good and bad reports on larger TV's, has anyone found one brand in particular to be more reliable? =P

My roommate has owned a Panasonic 50 inch plasma that has never been disappointing in the nearly 3 years he has owned it. I have owned a LG 60 inch plasma for 2.5 years and it looks great still with no issues.
Gimme some sugar baby!

I have a small LG that has been an absolute CHAMPION -- it's worked marvelously for the 6 years I've had it. But I've heard some bad stuff about the bigger LG's. Thanks for the recommendation, though, I may take a chance on it.

+1, My brother's 2-3 year old GT series 50" Plasma has been flawless since he's owned it. He watches that thing every chance he gets. Do you have a preference between plasma or LCD TV's? What is your price range?

Well, after tax, I spent almost $800 on my lemon Toshiba, so... about the same, price-wise?
