In the AVS thread the latest info is a mid Dec release in NA.

Ooh this is good news, but I'm hoping it may drop the 7005 a little closer to my price range on close out. Do we have a thread that sorts out the differences on the new models yet?

Here's the first review; I expect more reviews tomorrow and next week.

Not officially confirmed, but it looks like Marantz will begin releasing limited allotments of AV8801s next week.

Got mine up and running. This beast is out of control. I am hearing things I have never heard before. Even my wife noticed the difference instead of saying 'Its just another big black box thingy". Highly recommend this unit! It rocks!

There several on ebay for < $2,700.00, supposedly NIB and not refurbished. Anyone have any experience or are familiar with the sellers?

I just got one a couple weeks ago. . I love it. Just upgraded my xlr cables to audioquest diamondback. Love it. Are you using xlr? That's the way to go
