That should work very well and look very nice. I almost used a old compaq server rack for mine but I needed a half rack and decided to go with wood instead.

I should have some more pictures up after this weekend. The hallway is now dricored and ready for flooring, and is partially drywalled. Should be finished this weekend.

Also started playing with the LED lighting for the stage and movie posters.

Crossing my fingers, I am hoping to have it up and running by Saturday Feb 2nd. Big UFC card that night and would like to have the guys over for it, then Superbowl the next day.

This will be located completely outside of the room, at the front of the hallway entrance, underneath the stairs. It will be framed in, and I am hoping will look really sharp.

The area you are looking at was where there was a support beam and main water drain pipe. So I had to enclose it. The space you see at the side will be used for collectables, figurines, and other movie related stuff. It is fully insulated.

Well, got quite a bit accomplished over the weekend. Still a ways to go, but the next two weeks should be very interesting and very busy. I am shooting to have the basement operational and 85% finished for Feb2nd. Want to host the UFC fights on Saturday and the Superbowl on Sunday.

So Friday I brought my new Sanus pro racj home. The CFR2136 is a beaut and can hold a ton on gear.

It will roll into place under my basement stairs here:

The unit is 23.5" square with a height on 70.5. Lots of blanking plates and shelves. Should look pretty sweet.

Also got my work completed on the platform riser this weekend.

Before the riser:

The floor has a major dip in the middle, so we had to brace the framing so that it didn't buckle.

And the finished riser before floor covering and pub table are applied.

So I finished the primary stage construction tonight. Worked out really well. Gotta put a strip of 1x2 under the lip and attach the LED lights. Gonna take the middle piece to the carpet place and make sure they can upholster the stage properly.

The screen material is not on yet. It will go on once the carpet is down. Just did a thin white layer inside the frame. Picture is stunning...simply stunning. Can't wait to see it with the Black Diamond material.

Well, took the week off of work and have been working in overdrive. Plan to have the bulk of the work completed (85%). So the hallway will be drywalled and ready finishing, the rack will be in place with operational equipment, and the theatre area will be complete and functional.

So here we are mid week and this is where we stand with the theatre area:

So the carpet was installed today. I was originally going to go with a dark grey carpet to match the ceiling. But after my trip the the carpet store on sunday, the salesman found some red theatre carpet used at a local AMC theatre. It matched the walls reasonably well, and makes the room look very cinematic.

Little bit of hotspotting, but what are ya going to do, is DIY.

Can't wait till the weekend for the gang to come over the UFC and Superbowl. Plus some kick ass bluray demos and some multiplayer gaming. Yes, it will be a room full of guys, just manning out.

The system is no operational, but there is still work to be completed in certain areas.

Everything looks great! Your theater is definitely a 5.0 not a 4.5!

It's about the hard work you put into it yourself, not having somebody build it for you. 10/10 my opinion.

Have you decided how to hide the fuse panel and what looks like the water shutoff?

I don't worry about ratings. Everyone knows there was some moron going around giving low ratings. I just want to share this hobby with people.

I will be hiding the breaker panel inside of a slim cabinet, but am slowing things down a couple of weeks. This past week was a blur to me. I really haven't even had time to enjoy it fully myself.

Right now, any of the unfinished parts in the room (breaker panel, collectables cabinet, doorway to furnace room, are covered in black cloth for now.
