Killer Elite.

Hell of a blind buy for me. Interesting film, good action and fight scenes. Statham & Owen facing off was a bit a dream come true.
I was surprised when I saw this that it is filmed in Melbourne! A car chase down Dynon Rd in Footscray, some running around the rail yards at Newport (my work) and the final scene filmed at Flagstaff Station, although a CGI can has been overlaid one of our trains to make it look like the London Tube.

Bought:

Green Lantern 3D

Was buying a season of TV on DVD for a family member and it was in their 2 for $45. Considering he TV show was $35 I figured it was worth the extra $10 to pick it up. Got the last slipcovered version.

I only saw a bit of the film while I was on holidays a while back. Although I'm not expecting great things if it's light and somewhat cheesy I expect it'll be entertaining.
LATEST FOR SALE ITEMS:
Frozen: Collector's Edition (US BD/DVD/DC with slip) $17, Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition (US BD/DVD with slip) $15, Epic (US BD/DVD/UV) $10.
All new/sealed. Prices include shipping anywhere in Australia!

I thought the station looked familiar in that final chase. Only ever went by Flagstaff Station when I've been in Melbourne.

Watched: Jack Irish Bad Debts.

Seriously excellent stuff. I cannot fault this movie in any way - it was perfectly written, extremely well acted, filmed well, the action was not cheesy and all round just a pleasure to watch. Glad i picked this up, and i'm looking forward to Black Tide

I hope they make more Jack Irish movies.

You'll find it's because they were sent from different warehouses. Same reason why your credit card statement may have multiple smaller charges instead of 1 lump debit.

Yep, that's probably it but surely costs Amazon more shipping them that way via DHL Express rather than in 1 combined package. Oh well, their loss, not mine

Episode 1 of Justified Season Two and then checked out The Sting. A classic. Audio quality was quite good, unfortunately the picture quality wasn't so great. Some issues trace back to the source but unlike Jaws and E.T. this was one of Universal's quick and nasty "restorations" and it shows. It would appear not to be a new scan and they've simply applied DNR to the image. No significant edge enhancement to speak of though...

Watched 'Kill Bill'. Haven't seen it since it first came out, and it was good fun.

PQ was incredibly detailed, especially in close-ups.

Watched: The Apartment (1960)
Excellent movie, thoroughly enjoyed and now watching special features. Beautiful picture, the black and white looks so classy
Bought it today at JB as part of the 2 for $30 deal with an additional 20% off.
Also picked up with it the Thin Red Line digibook, as well as A Dangerous Method and The Great Mouse Detective.
Other pickups from the current 20% off were Justifed season 2 on Blu for $10.39 best bargain I have got in awhile, was marked as $12.98 for some reason. Also got Oliver stones the doors for $8.30, cinemascopes Prince Valiant, and a few DVDs seasons 1-5 of cold feet for $11.18 each, a good year for $8, Night Shift for $5.60 and Harlem Nights for $4.
Would love to see A Good Year on Blu eventually.
Planning on picking up tomorrow, Season 1 of Justified for $20, along with The Black Shield of Falworth, and maybe Jack Irish as it sounds good
Bought a lot more during this current sale than the Christmas one.

I'm back guys.

I was sick at camping. Still hadn't got over that food poisoning. So came back a little early.

Watched first 2 episodes of:

Naaa didn't really buy into it. Too predictable and I'm so over that everyone is going to get America format (Soooo overdone). Hope it gets better.

Going to watch:
