It will have to be some sort of USB device/thumbdrive.
Small portable and marketable, just need to store more than 1TB Here you go

Maybe studios could subsidize and market the hard drives. Imagine a WB passport with their exclusive content.

Flash is much more expensive that physical media. BD is the most viable platform right now.

Don’t feel badly Sap, this is a process which demands patience, because for one thing, there are many players involved. The good thing is that 4K was undeniably ‘thee topic” of CES 2013. Several consumer electronics companies introduced 4K tvs (and not just behemoth sizes) and with all the inherent marketing spiel, they now have a substantial vested interest/investment in the format, i.e. UHD. The onus is now on the content creators and providers to come through and offer native 4K to really make the C.E. companies’ respective 4K displays shine to their greatest potential. Even, the marketing of the “Mastered in 4K” has an upside i.e….Uninformed producer to other uninformed producer – “Hey, there’s a major Hollywood studio that is offering “Mastered in 4K” Blu-rays now to consumers in their home to watch on their Blu-ray players and you still think we shouldn’t pop a little extra dough for a 4K D.I. since the D.P. has already chosen the RED Epic, Sony F65, etc. to shoot with?”
To Whom It May Concern - The offers/inquires are appreciated; however, I no longer work only for perks from studio-based home entertainment companies.

Major work has been accomplished. Some tweaking now…
http://phenix.int-evry.fr/jct/ HEVC should be ready to be ratified as a Standard no later than this Spring. If there is a bottleneck, that will be the BDA.

Speaking of my crystal ball…but in regards to HEVC and 4K (practical 4K hardware solutions for commercially viable data rates, that is). I dislike making timeline predictions because they often are dependent upon multiple factors, of which neither I, nor anyone else for that matter, has control over. But if I had to comment, I would say that with sample silicon available right now, then systemization of said silicon should be available in the first half of 2014 to all those companies wishing to build their respective video decoder boxes and players. If the engineers can figure it out, software based solutions will be available even earlier. Good recent implementation analysis paper covering many aspects… http://www.hhi.fraunhofer.de/fileadm...Complexity.pdf Of course, all this is pending the upstream politics gets sorted out, which I think it will (through the MPEG LA), despite the somewhat gloomy outlook of this article… http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-574...-in-september/

Penton man, good to hear you are rooting for us. Would you be surprised to learn that we recently came 10th in a poll of most successful clubs in English football? They worked it out as trophies won plus time spent in top division. We have won six league titles, two FA cups and have had well over 80 years in the top division in our history.
Anything you need to know about my beloved team, please pm me and I will be happy to fill you in. |

![]() Whatever. I hope they take the time and choose the right standards. I guess no 4KBD in PS4? They could use it to stream 4K actually.

Patrick-Pierre says UHD is not 4K-
I agree with him but there are reasons why it's not true 4K that's explained really good in this post from AVS- http://www.avsforum.com/t/1451171/wh...#post_22816160 They're calling it 4K because it sounds good.
