I have a lot of older releases which either aren't in the database or the specific version I have isn't listed. It's a bit painful to add so many titles at once but that's the only way to do it if you want them in the database. I've been slowly adding the missing titles from my collection. Under your collection there is a bulk Import option. You can try that to see if it hits on any titles. Word of caution though, if there are multiple titles with the same UPC (which can happen if there are multiple rereleases or titles which use the same UPC) all will flag as matching titles. |

Although you'll typically find 12-digit codes on most US releases you'll find 13-digit codes on international products. The UPC or EAN can be found below the bar code. Some of the early US releases also included an ISBN number at the top of the bar code which usually started with 978. ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number and was used to identify books but for some reason the studios also included an ISBN number. The studios have ceased including ISBN numbers on releases. There are two forms of ISBN which include ISBN-10 (10 digit) and ISBN-13 (13 digit). Existing ISBN-10 numbers where converted to ISBN-13 by prefixing 978 to the ISBN-10. In this example, below, you can see at the top of the bar code, and labeled with ISBN, is a 10-digit number which is the ISBN-10. At the bottom of the bar code is a UPC-12 code. The code format is typically #-#####-#####-#. This is the code you'd want to use. [Show spoiler] In the example, below, you can see an example of a EAN-13. The number is a 13-digit code found at the bottom of the bar code. The code format is typically #-######-######. [Show spoiler]

How about making the UPC a visible field on its title page like the other release specs?

Thanks also to the mods for putting up with my incomplete submissions as I figure out the interface. They do put submissions up quickly. |

Is the video bitrate field new or have I just never noticed it before?
For running time in cases where there are 2 cuts of the movie (House at the End of the Street for example) which is the preferred time to use, the theatrical or the unrated? |

I had submitted a release which has different specs than the initial release yet Amazon has kept using the same ASIN. My submission isn't pending anymore so I'm affraid it got cancelled. Is there any way to add such a release?

When adding a new DVD release to the database, occasionally it will automatically add the cover art from the Amazon link attached to it and other times it doesn't.
Is there anything during the contribution process that dictates that? Maybe whether one selects yes or unset for the cover setting? Or is it something unrelated to anything the person adding it does? |

Some redundant listings are added when I'm not looking ![]() mmm, good question. Probably for now you could add the highest, and write the other one specifying it on the comment field. |

Exclusive retailer information will now be automatically displayed in the sub heading, so this information should not be entered in the title anymore, it should be set in the specs.

I didn't have any submissions pending, but when I just submitted one, it now says I have 58 pending. I should note, this is the third time I've submitted this particular title.

When you submit a new record, I'm pretty sure the system counts every field in that record as a separate submission.

How long does it take for an item in your collection to be reflected on the 'collections' display? I probably have the only one of these on the site:
http://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/Braindead-DVD/45251/ But it still shows as being in '0' collections. |

There are movies attributed to one Gary Goldman that should actually be separated to two people. The animated films belong to one, and the live action films belong to another. I tried to add a second Gary Goldman, but still couldn't get it fixed.
Thanks. |

Add the second Gary Goldman with (II) after his name.

Got a quick question guys. I tried submiting some recommended studio changes from Sony Pictures -> Sony Picture Classics and Shout Factory -> Scream Factory.
For some of the SPC ones I received the following message: Quote:
If this is the case then why do we even have Sony Pictures Classic and Scream Factory as options if we're not suppose to use them? This is a bit confusing when these are available options but users aren't suppose to use them. How are users suppose to know this unless they try submitting a change? Thanks much for any insight you can provide; just looking for some clarification on submitting changes to existing profiles or when submitting new contributions. EDIT: For example, isn't New Line Cinema under the larger umbrella of Warner Bros but we don't list New Line Cinema titles as WB titles. Here's a possible recommendation. Is it possible to list these titles under their respective studio name or label but when searching the database those sub labels would automatically show up under the main label as well? I would imagine this would require a DB change though. If that is not a possible solution, could the studios list be cleaned up or can something to the effect of "Do Not Use" be added to the studio names we're not suppose to use?
