Incidentally, crs over in the US forum, has the Nordic 2D and 3D releases.

Both are on a BD-25 and having compared them to the US release, he says they look identical.

so it looking like that if we want to watch this movie in good PQ we have to upgrade our gear to 3D.

the uk release in 3D isnt much better in pq, if u want the best pq buy the american version as its seems to have a higher bitrate according to what the guys on page 15 of this thread said. the uk EIV release has a much lower bit rate for audio and for 2d than the USA release

USA - average bitrate video 27.0 mbps
UK release - average bitrate video 20.0 mbps

people are saying they are practically the same but on paper the usa version wins

The sound is terrible on my copy in a lot of scenes, makes the film unwatchable. Anyone else's got sound problems?

but the US 2D version has all the same issues as the UK version and so dose the Nordic version. so no matter which version you buy unless you can see it in 3D you going to be disappoint by the PQ

I understand that on paper the US version is technically the best option at this moment.

I disagree, the 3D version looks WAY better than the 2D on the UK release

So is anybody else having sound issues on the 2D version or have I just bought a dodgy copy?

There is only one track on the UK release. Doesn't matter if you are watching it in 2D or 3D. Could you describe the problem?

I think its safe to assume the US release has a better 3D encode as none of the US buyers are reporting any issues with PQ and say it looks great. Seeing as I got my UK copy using voucher I may double dip on US release but not at the moment.

I got the US version for the better extras and - so far - the PQ on the 2D version looks very good.

It's in certain scenes, it's like the sound is jittery, cutting off for 1second then back on again then repeat, keeps doing it through a lot of scenes through the 2nd half of the film. The sound is really bad during the mini gun scene.

Most likely its the audio drop out problem. Read back a few pages.

Yeah a few players are being affected by that issue even on the US disc.

Make sure, if possible, that your player's firmware is up to date. Is it a Sony player?
