However, I'm interested on the way that you calibrated your system using PEQ. Could you please provide further details? |

Hello,
I have a Yamaha RXV2700 receiver (Claimed 7.1 channels delivering 140 Watts into each full channel at .04% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). B&W 704s as front, B&W HTM7 center, B & W DS1 rears, and B&W AWS 700 subwoofer. I am considering adding a 3 channel or a five channel power amp and am looking at the Emotiva XPA-3 or Emotiva XPA-5 power amp or even an Emotiva UPA-700 rated at 80 W per channel. Any thoughts on the likelihood that I will get better audio performance? I have always been a lazy receiver user - this is my first foray into power amps. The 2xxx/3xxx models have a 7 band EQ for the sub that allows for manual tweaking which is what I used (although YPAO will also EQ the sub on the 2xxx/3xxx models). The cool thing is that each band isn't fixed, and it also allows you to select the depth of each frequency, not just amplitude.

Good ear. Yeah, it's their new album. One of my favorite songs off of it called 'Day Four'.
As for the sound, in person the bass is much more present and overall just a better presentation, but I still think it sounded pretty nice in the video. Now that I am using two amps (XPA-3 and UPA-7), do I need to adjust anything to get the most out of them? Hello,
I've noticed that you started the official Emotiva Q&A thread. I was wondering if I could bounce a question off of you. I currently have a yamaha 7.1 receiver that is 130 watts per channel. I've researched on Emotiva's website some and would like to try adding some power amps. I'm thinking I'd need a 5 channel and a 2 channel from what they have available. I'm wondering how all the connections would be made between the receiver(if it can even still be utilized) and the speakers. Do you have any advice? Something I may not be thinking of? Thanks for your time Josh |
