Default Does reference sound better than other series of Klipsch?

Do the Klipsch Reference series really sound better than say the K series? I've seen lots of good deals on Craigslist for KF this and that. I know what "Reference" means but in this case do they really sound better for the money?

No idea...I really like my RF7IIs. Look around for factory authorized B stock you'll be surprised what you can get them for.

Default Quintet. 5.0 Medium sized room

These things used to be considered high quality for the money. Any change in the past few years in the audio world? 1k still seems to be able to build a pretty good 5.1 setup.

I’m a little confused with your question. I’m confused with the ‘1k’ question. Is that directed at the Quintet’s?

I do agree that the Quintet’s are pretty good for the price, and especially when they are onsale.

I started with a cheap HTiB, and afterwards I bought some Quintet III, and made them as surrounds with the Klipsch F2’s as fronts.

A little later I upgraded the quintet III center channel to the larger Klipsch C3 center channel.

I felt the setup was great for movies, but it wasn’t that great for music.

I meant for a basic 5.1 setup. Receiver, sub and quintets for 1,000

I'm trying to compare Polk Audio RTi A1 vs Klipsch Reference RB-51 II for a 2.1 system. I'd like to get opinions. I'll be using it for movies, tv, and gaming.

Thanks, Joe

Well both speakers are very good! You are in a biased place (a Klipsch forum ) so yeah...I would naturally say Klipsch, but if you can demo them both and get the ones you like

I'm curious to know if anyone has experience with the Quintets and the G16 package. Does the increased quality justify the massive price difference?

I had have to say Klipsch would be my preference but Like Prerich said you need to demo them both and choose what sounds best to you . When I first built my HT I ran Polks and really liked them though. Good luck but I truly believe you won't go wrong with either choice .
