From listening to it more, I believe that I would need a 4" riser to get the imaging to the right ear level, until I can build some (with felt pads, thanks John) I will try your solution.

The great thing about them being on top of the Behringers is A/B testing. It's uncanny how you can be satisfied with something and then all of a sudden, you can stand listening to it anymore. The difference in sound is similar to using my 330B to power my cans, i.e. enormous. Now I realize how my Behringers were harsh sounding. They'll do great though for my 26" TV in my room.

If the Adcom brings out anything more, this will be the cheapest upgrade I ever did with a total cost of nothing (well except going from 7.1 to 5.1 but that's trivial) I was browsing Kijiji and found mint 704 matching towers. If I'm lucky they'll still be available later on and would move my 702s to the sides, what I initially should of done.

It's absolutely wonderful to read that you are so thoroughly pleased with the changes you've made and are about to make........plus at little to no cost! That's a huge bonus!

Bringing up the furniture felt pads brought to my attention that I need to get some myself. I also need to figure out a way to tilt the Behringers slightly downward, as the tweeter is about 2 inches too high from ear level. Do you have any suggestions?

Yes it is John, I really don't understand why I never did it before.

As for your dilemna, I know that my big bro would just make slanted seats for them (he's going to do my risers, he's one of those handy with everything kinda guy + the right tools) as that's what he built for me for my guitar amp.

But his skills have not transferred down the line unfortunately . I guess for now you might just stick some cardboard under the rear to tilt them forward. But for a permanent solution, I'll give it some thought buddy.

I have a thought.....I could turn them upside down, and that would immediately solve the problem. It would look kinda goofy, plus I don't know if its adviseable to do. Thoughts?

Actually thought of that also since the tweeters are on the bottom on my Missions. But I figured if they were made like that, might as well respect it (though in my case it wouldn't show as the grill is reversible).

It would look kinda strange but hey, it might just work perfectly John. I says, gives it a try What I am wondering though is if the weight of the amp would be too much in reverse position.

I think I'll give it a shot at some point this week, provided I don't find an acceptable method to angle them slightly downward. Will go and have a browse at Rona or Home Depot and see if I can find something to do the trick.

I love browsing those stores for stuff like that, seems if you look long enough there's always a solution waiting to be found. Good luck buddy.

On a side note, I've been revisiting all my demo discs with the new setup and all I can say is wow again. Shouldn't be too long

Well I've been listening to a lot of jazz and female vocals on my little setup and have to say that I'm totally thrilled. The mix of my H//K 330B and my Missions is a match made in heaven. For little drivers the bass is surprisingly good, upright bass sounds full and deep. Vocals are full and velvety as heck, acoustic guitars are natural sounding with lots of presence. Drums also come out with power and crispness I haven't heard on my ht setup before. I need to figure out how I'll add SACD and DVD-A playback as I want to re listen to my hi res collection on this setup.

i feel a bit under-qualified for this thread.

i use bose companion 2 pc speakers. i know, i know...but they were on sale and i needed new pc speakers so went with these.

the only thing i really do on my pc is play games, surf the net and occasionally listen to music (when i don't wanna fire up the ht system).

i do have logitech g35 headphones that i use if i have to use vent or talk during gaming sessions. they offer 7.1 audio and sound pretty good.

I finally upgraded to some dedicated active monitors after years of listening to a variety of PC Speaker steups from Logitech, H-K and Altec. The difference in sound quality has been revelatory, although a lot of that can be attributed to the dedicated soundcard I installed as well, along with good quality cables.

I have a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 setup on my desktop, the self powered subwoofer provides clean bass at adjustable levels on the speakers. The lows go very low and the highs are quite crisp, i picked mine up at an auction for about 75$ on ebay a while back once you get these youll never want another set, its also avalable in 5.1.. only draw back there is not an on or off button, i had another Yamaha 2.1 cream colored setup while ago that rattled the walls and rumbled everything but me out of the computer chair but that one REALLY pissed the neighbors off

im running the same thing but the difference i have is i don't run it off the integrated audio card i have a sound blaster x-fi to help process the sound along with an equalizer to help the speakers reproduce the sound along with FLAC files and winamp.

I had a Soundblaster x-fi for years, but got tired of Creative taking more than a year to upgrade driver support when I installed newer versions of Windows. So I switched to an Asus Xonar Essence STX and I couldn't be happier!

that was my first choice but i decided to run fiber optic to my pioneer elite receiver since the asus is more built for internal use only so i run my music (if i want) out to my B&W speakers. the asus wouldn't have been able to do that with stereo (analog) red white plugs.

Marantz SR4023 (preamp) = $350
ENCORE ENMAB-8CM 7.1 (DAC) = $30

I know, I keep thinking about getting another DAC but its hard. I know there is a difference. Just not sure how far up the ladder I need to go.
