Sonics. That was one criteria in approving the old Sonics to move to Oklahoma. They had to leave the name and logo behind. It belongs to the city of Seattle.

They ahould just drop the Super and go with Sonics. Nobody really called them the Supersonics anyway. Their jerseys were always one of my favorites among NBA teams.

Too many teams move and take the team name with them even when it makes no sense. The Lakers makes no sense for an LA team, Jazz is a good name for a New Orleans rather than Utah team and the Hornets never made much sense in NO.

According to Dwight the season starts tonight. Man, time really flies by when you get older. I can't believe Steve Nash breaking his leg was 3 seasons ago already! Crazy!

Dwight got hurt yet again. He only lasted 17 minutes before re-injuring his shoulder in what looks like another ugly Lakers loss. They're down by 17 to Memphis with 5 min left.

It was unfortunate timing for the injury considering Howard vowed to "bring it" after Wednesday's shootaround so the Lakers could begin to turn around their disappointing 17-24 season.

"I have to be more," Howard said. "I have to do more for this team. There are a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders. I have to step up and take it. It has to be me. It has to start with me. I'm a guy that has to dominate for us to win. We're not going to win unless I dominate."

It's looking more and more like we're just going to get a repeat of last season with the Finals being Miami vs. OKC. It's hard seeing anyone in the West beating OKC and even harder seeing anyone in the East beating Miami in a 7 game series.

If there were such a thing the Magic and Lakers would each have a 4 seed... among the 7 teams in each conference who didn't make the playoffs.

The Lakers might luck out this season in that the cutoff to make the Western Conf playoffs is only .500 at the moment. Over the past several seasons the 8 seed in the West had somewhere between a .550 and .610 record. The Lakers are still only 4 games out of the 8th seed right now.

Well, we ain't got a chance to make the real playoffs, as D12 re-aggravated his should injury in Memphis. It doesn't how serious this injury is, as he definitely won't be a 100% going forward. Without a fully healthy D12 down low, we don't have a chance, period! If I were Kobe, I would textJohn Wall right around now, and see if he wants to watch the playoffs at my place or his.
