The new curved model complements our core OLED TV family with a unique design that capitalizes on the thinness of the screen and the aesthetic beauty of OLED TV.”

I should give better viewing angles but still would you like a curved screen for movies?

with the edges being bent towards the viewer head on, how could it give a better viewing angle? to me it seems it woudl be worse if your not directly in front of it. idk if you know what i mean or not though :P

Curved screen's? I wonder how this would effect viewing angles? I dont think it would be good but I could be wrong.

the curved oled is cool, but i think you'd have to be dead center for it to look good. the edges curve in towards the center...so if your off to the right side, with the right folding towards the center, i'd imagine you would lose some of the viewing angle.

The best part of the clip was the Samsung guy's "I want to punch you in the ****ing head" expression when the CNET kid said 'let us know whether you would buy a curved tv or whether you think tvs should stay flat and normal'.

That was pretty freaking funny.

My local theater uses a huge curved projector screen.

It's different but I like it.....Even though some of the top and bottom of the picture gets cut off.

That probably wouldn't be a problem with a curved tv though.

I hope I can afford the proposed OLED curved screen eventually as well. It's really nothing new. From a cinema perspective we have evolved from the flat 1.37:1 screen to the early Cinerama, followed by CinemaScope 2.35:1 later changed slightly to 2.39:1. Then we moved on in the mid-1950s through 1960s to early-1970s experimenting with 70mm 6-Track Stereo with Todd-AO 70mm and Super Panavision 70mm followed up with Ultra Panavision 70mm. The last process was Dimension 150 which was the closest to the original 3-projector system Cinerama but now using just one projector. Now we are in the digital age and IMAX and the film industry is once again interested in the immersive experience that did so well in the past. Even though we now have 3D in the cinema and at home the industry wants to revisit the curved screen experience of immersiveness which served it so well. Well we've now got the audio all taken care of up to 7.1 channels of sound in home theater systems. A curved HDTV screen would now be the next logical step. I'm looking forward to the new changes Samsung and LG are working on and fully support their revisionist ideas.

Next time you go to a theater take a close look at the screen most are curved even if slightly....

I think they would be great but as with most things in this area,it would need to be pretty big to get the best out of it,more films like How The West Was Won presentation....yes please.

My screen is curved in my home theater and I think it adds to the immersion! All of my friends & family who come to our theater and see the screen LOVE it. Although...every seat in my theater sits directly in front of the screen....there is no off-angle viewing...so that's something to consider before purchasing a curved tv.
