... The papercut scene in Jackass ruined me for life also. I have had an irrational fear of getting papercuts ever since I saw that as a kid. hahaha

Cannibal Ferox when the first time on film they really kill an animal and you realize damn, we may be in trouble.
Final moments in Requim for a Dream with Connelly at the party and Leto in the hospital. The first scene that did not zen with my mojo ever was grandma in the tub from The Shining. |

Disturbing imagery for me is anything with the Exorcist and the Old Lady from Insidious. The one scene that stuck with me for awhile was the rape scene in the The Hills Have Eyes remake. I don't recall it being really graphic. Heck the rape itself isn't even shown. That said it's bad enough for a woman to be raped but by two disgusting mutants. Grossed me out.

Antichrist is a very disturbing film. Lars Von Trier films in general are disturbing but strangely hypnotic. They suck you in and its hard to look away. Dancer in the Dark was a total shock to me. Well first, Byork was able to act. Second, the just downer ending really makes my skin crawl. The final minutes is just heartbreaking. Von Trier can get great performances from okay actors and he should be commended for that. His films are character studies that push people beyond their limits. Antichrist is 50 shades of ****ed up. Lars set out to make a horror film and he succeeded. Haunting imagery that sticks to your brain.

I previously mentioned Salò, but I actually can rewatch that movie. The one movie that disturbed me forever and just thinking about it makes me uncomfortable is The Exorcist. I don't think I will rewatch that movie ever again.
All right, look if you absolutely have to tell her the truth, at least wait until the timing's right. And that's what deathbeds are for.

I haven't seen Salo, A Serbian Film, Human Centipede, or any of those other "I'll film something just to shock" movies. The only one I've seen was Antichrist and it was enough for me. It was pretty dumb. There really isn't a reason to make those types of films IMO. I find real life situations such as rape or torture more disturbing. Ones that stuck out to me were;
The Last House on the Left (remake) The rape scene (I think the extended version it lasts longer)...it seemed to go on forever. In the same scene where one of the guys just slowly and casually stabs the girl as if it's nothing. Saving Private Ryan - The scene where the Nazi slowly plunges the knife in the US soldier while saying "shhh, shhh..." End of Watch - Where the gang member is sitting on top of the police woman and beating her repeatedly. Gone Baby Gone - When they find the kid in the bathtub. It's more implied but was disturbing to me. The Killer Inside Me - The beating that Jessica receives. This stuff is disturbing to me, not the tripe in those other movies that just go for shock value for the sake of it.

Yeah why? You make it sound as though I wrote Ratatouille or something.
