I really really hope that Disney releases the Little Mermaid show along with the Blu-Ray..

I don't care if it's in DVD format, I just need to have that series... Probably the best animated.

I'm not surprised Disney is ditching Star Wars Episodes II and III given they're concentrating on Episode VII.

"This article is false - Disney has not canceled LM3D, because I've been working on the conversion for the past several months and have not stopped, obviously they'd call us off by now if this were true. Disney is only changing the release date. This article is obviously slanted to bash 3D. No one HAS to pay 3D price either, if you don't like 3D, or don't want to pay the extra ticket price then don't. People still pay the extra $6 for IMAX movies as well. People complain there aren't enough jobs in this country on the other hand, what about those of us that do this for a living?"

Here's what I got from Disney by penny costley who actually runs the Disney movie rewards club or deals with either way she officially knows what's going on

Jeffrey, I've been researching your inquiry. It looks like we’re still sorting out the dinglehoppers, doohickeys and other details, so at this time all I can advise is that you keep an eye out for an announcement. ~Penny

The 3D conversions were to be distributed by Fox, which I'm sure added to Disney's desire to can 'em.

The press release said something about new special editions, was that supposed to be a joke?

I'm curious, now that Star Wars II and III's 3D run has been canned, is Little Mermaid's release still out of the picture?

New special editions of the Star Wars prequels? There was no such mention of that in the official press release. All it said was that they were postponed so they could focus 100% on the new movie, and that future plans would be announced later. Here's the official statement.

The timing could be (and probably is) completely unrelated, but it is interesting that Disney has postponed another set of 3D conversion releases this close to the postponement/cancellation of The Little Mermaid's 3D theatrical release.

This makes me have this thought in the back of my mind that makes me think we complained enough to get Disney to reschedule the theatrical release of TLM and cancel Star Wars... Probably not though.

Then what the heck did I read? The Article. OOOHH as I'm trying to find that article they are trying to focus on the new episodes, not new special editions

Ha, ha. I love the title of that article - Disney announces new Special Edition of the future where there are no more 3-D Star Wars prequels.

Considering they were both written by Howard Ashman... probably not a massive surprise!

I have a stupid smile on my face now. But I stopped half way to savour the trailer on my big screen when I get Peter Pan. Sounds stupid I know - but thanks !
