I'll have to find a way to introduce some more light into the room, it is really dark and my pictures are turning out really bad.
Fortunately I have a wide entertainment room. On either side of a 60" plasma, they are taking up 8 1/2' of real estate! The front left fitting perfectly on my Epik Empire, the right on a small table, and the center on a ottaman. Mounting the next two behind me is going to be quite interesting to say the least. I am hoping those will be in burled maple. Stay tuned....

Ha, nice to hear that I'm not the only one who uses a Sub. for a C2 stand.

Cameras have flashes, should be plenty of light. Would also like to see the pics of this unique set up of 3 C2s

Default Mirage OMD 15's vs OMD R's

Hi newbie here, love the forum and all the various posts. I have OMD 28's front and OMD C2, I want to complete my 7.1 rig for a dedicated HT and was wondering if anyone could help me... How would OMD 15's work as rear Vs OMD R's?... For a little bit more does it make sense to have the 15's?... any pointers would be appreciated

An Emotiva XPR 5 and XPA 2 will be powering these speakers with an SVS PC 12 plus

Thanks...

Welcome bonchance.
Looks like you have plenty of power so no problem there.
I'm using OMD R's for sides and OMD 5's for rears and very satisfied with that combo and there are some using 15's for sides and OMD R's for rears, but I don't recall anyone using 15's for rears. Maybe someone will chime in that has tried 15's for rears or if they feel there is pro/cons benefits for that application.

I would use the OMD Rs in the rear. Sure the 15s will work fine but surround speakers a liitle higher is better IMO. More options for placing the Rs compared to floorstanders.

Yeah only in black. But like HenryT said I'd go with the Rs also. You have more placement options with them. I have mine on the wall about 6' up and they sound wonderful up there.

would you use these for a pure 2.0 system?
just for music....

I am thinking of creating such a system starting with a pair of KEF XQ20 speakers, the first non Mirage ones in my house....
they are very good looking and I guess that they sound great but they cost 4 to 5 times more than the omd-5's....
and I like the music sound that I get from my omnisat's, nanosat's and mx's....
but it not something extraordinary...

The Mirage-plex is under construction...

The KEF XQ20 look to be a fantastic speaker if you can find them, looks to be discontinued, but sold for 1000/pair new. In my humble opinion they would be better for a pure 2.0 system than the OMD 5's, but the Mirage Omni 60's I think could be a great performer also.

my point exactly, man...
they look very nice even when they are silent and I found them in Holland for $1250 shipped to me....
If and when I'll do this I will name it "Stereo Sin",since there won't be any Mirage speakers in that system.......

Oh my god it was not too far away from you !!! about 90 minutes in car.
Sorry Dolsey, you know it was a gambling because i was not able to see them
in person, but what is funny about it, is the first time o told him that i will buy them, and he ended the sale at Ebay, and then i get back to him telling him that i changed my mind, so he return them to ebay, and 2 days after i called him and said this time i am ready and bought them, so you had your chances

I will put some pictures soon and also i may put my OMD 28 on sale soon.

Thans
