My third OMD-C2 is sounding better every day! Probably has about 20 hours on it now.

I do like XBMC a lot but not for music.

Having a huge apple lossless collectin, jriver was the only player that handled everything nicely while also having a good app for tablets and other devices to control remotely. I still like itunes remote app a little better for browsing a very large music collection but jriver is good enough.

I also use media center master that watches my downloads folder and automatically fetches data then renames everything nicely and moves them to the appropriate tv or movie folder. Jriver may be capable of doing this but I havent seen it yet or don't know how to use it. It will usually recognize everything perfectly fine but I don't know how to rename and move it.

here's a photo of jriver playing some music...

Nice little HTPC setup Bic. As for a sub like couple others said there are a few you can get for $800 that would really help out. PowerSoundAudio XV15 is a good option plus has free shipping. HSU also makes some pretty good subs as well.

This speakers are the kind of speakers that once you have them , you will never let them go !!!

Comparing to the OMD 28, the bass is much better but not as articulate as the 28, but still you feel the deepness of the bass.

Please let us know once you have them how you like them.
Thanks. I'm sure they don't have quite the refinement of the 28s that I used to own, but I always wanted to try them out. Got a good deal on them, and figure that if I don't love them, I can always pass them along to someone on here!

If so, I'm curious what made you choose something like that over the Focus 340 or 380? They may not look as nice, but they probably offer similar performance, but with more bass!

Oh i don't agreed with you at all about the refinement comparing to the 28.

I am sure once you will have a good listen to the OM5 you will discover how
good are they, and in my opinion, the sound of the OM5 is much more musical and sweet than the 28.

I have them both in my house and the sensitivity of the OM5 is around 91 or 92 db (Don'T remember exactly) so you don't need a bulldozer to make them play to their real potentiel as the 28.

Well, musical and sweet means that it's not quite as neutral as the OMD-28. The older Mirages were always a little warm, a little dark and quite punchy. Hopefully these are more of the same.

I'll be running them off of a 250Wpc Hegel integrated, so power's a non-issue. Those things shouldn't need more than 100W anyway, what with the bass drivers being powered.

Bluvette, what'd you pick up, man?

If the spikes are MIA when you pick them up, give these a try if you don't have carpet, or even if you do.

The 3EX fit the Mirage's and I'm not a big believer in tweeks but I did notice a difference when I put them on a pair of OM10s and OM9s. I have hardwood floors so they were a must for me.
