Still sounds kind of fudgy without context, though. It'd be easier to just specify that you're talking about 50% and 100% of Durango's specs.

If the Orbis has 1.8TFlops and the Durango 1.2TFlops the the Orbis has 50% more than Durango whereas Durango has 33% less than the Orbis.

Or Durango = 2/3 x Orbis

If the Orbis has 32 Rops and the Durango 16 Rops, then the Orbis has 100% more than the Durango whereas Durango has 50% less.

Or Durango = 1/2 x Orbis

This. Percentages do not stay the same when comparing 2 numbers. 100% of 32 does not equal 100% of 16.

You just worded it very poorly, that's all.

You don't say 100% less of something. It should have said that Durango would have (rumors up until now) 50% of the ROPs of Orbis, when making a comparison.

For reference a TFLOPS is a Tera FLOPS (Tera = 1000 billion, or 1 trillion), FLOPS standing for FLoating point OPeration per Second.
For reference, one of the most powerful systems on the planet named "Cray XK7" has a cumulated power of around 20 PetaFlops (20.000 TFLOPS). The tenth most powerful System on the planet is around -2- PFLOPS (2000 TFLOPS).
Now, scaled back down for a home console, 1.8 (or 1.2) TFLOPS on graphical power is nothing to sneeze at

I don't know what this is supposed to mean. PS3 sales at this point in time are not much related to the BD video market. PS4 sales are likely to have almost no relation, as there are many fine BD video players for a lower cost or better ones. And now, isn't the 720 supposed to have a BD drive? Should we see those projections?

There's no guarantee that Sony won't have a base fee for accessing the PSN this time around. And, even if they don't, they'll just keep adding features behind the pay wall.

No, there isn't, but i bet they carry the free PSN over and improve the base version. I don't give a monkeys if they add more features and ask to be paid for them as long as the current free features remain and those that should be free are made free.

I think Sony are the most gamer centric company imo, they just get a bad rap for nothing. I blame Xbot zealots for spreading the malicious crap tbh. Fanboys with no evidence of a 'greater' system offering that they should actually pay for.

Sony meanwhile have made sure everything you practically pay for is value for money in terms of PS+ (Game downloads withstanding, they're to fleece everybody ).

If rumours are true, Gaikai would be a great addition to add value for gamers.

£400 tops, I can't see this costing more than a PS3 did when this looks cheaper to produce than the PS3 was.

More than £400 for the top mode = not buying.

Simple as really. Why pay more for a console that should be cheaper to produce and has none of the cutting edge hardware the PS3 had in it that made it so expensive.

In fact, i think £350 would be the sweet spot imo at the very most. I'd prefer £300 but that's dreaming, so maybe £400-450 package with 3-5 extra games and a dualshock pad.

I think £450 with 3 games and an extra dualshock might be the sweet spot for a next gen console package.
