Soundgarden being one of my favourite bands, and after a very long 16 year hiatus, I'm really looking forward to this release. Love the album art btw!

Going to see them on Saturday, will be the fourth time seeing Soundgarden. Seen them in 1994, 1996, 2011 and now 2013. We're going to line up early and try and rail it, which sucks because it's freaking freezing out there right now, currently -12C/10F, feels like -16C/3F. Going to get a pair of longjohns after work today and some pocket warmers.
41 different songs through the first four shows, and between 25~29 songs per night? Looks like a great time to see them, and it's all small club too. Saturday's venue fits 3,000 people.

1st night's 2nd encore included: Stardog Champion (Mother Love Bone) Say Hello 2 Heaven Reach Down Hunger Strike 2nd night's 2nd encode included: Hunger Strike Call Me a Dog All Night Thing Reach Down All tracks with Chris Cornell. Freaking sweet. Surprised they didn't do Pushing Forward Back though as a) it's a KILLER track and b) it's one of the other tracks Eddie sings back-up on the album to. I watched a recent interview where Matt Cameron said he wouldn't be able to do a double bill and he plans to keep both separate, I think it was during this interview in Toronto on 102.1 The Edge - |

Temple of the Dog is an excellent album both lyrically and musically. IMO 'Say Hello 2 Heaven' is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Soundgarden on Saturday night was insanely good, holy crap are these guys cooking right now and Cornell's voice is just spot on.
We lined up 2 hours before doors, it was a bit cold but not as bad as a few days before and we had longjohns, toe warmers in our shoes and hand warmers in our gloves. We managed to rail it dead front and centre right in front of Cornell's mic. Here are two pics of the view we had: Thayil: [Show spoiler] Cornell: [Show spoiler] Quote:
They've put out official boots of the few shows directly after this but not these two. Maybe they're going to do a Blu-ray? |

^ Can't get much closer than that, glad you guys had a good night. Will have to catch Soundgarden the next time they are in Toronto which might be awhile as they just played, tickets sold out real fast though.

I had tickets to both Sound Academy shows but sold my Friday pair in advance of shows starting because I didn't want to get stuck with them and see a very similar show twice. Well, they played 10 songs on the Friday night they didn't play on Saturday and 11 songs on Saturday that weren't played on Friday. Add in the 18 songs that they played on both nights and I would have seen 39 different songs in just those two shows. Bummer!! Couldn't really afford to go to both nights anyway. Bones of Birds is one of my fave tunes off the new album, they played it for the first time this tour the very next night. I'm not complaining though, I got a killer show and the sound was awesome. Would have liked to seen the Phoenix show in November in an even tinier club, but can't complain about getting on the rail. Absolutely awesome. I've seen them four times now: 1) Aug.06.1994 - Molson Park, Barrie, ON 2) Jul.05.1996 - Molson Park, Barrie, ON 3) Jul.02.2011 - Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto, ON 4) Jan.26.2013 - Sound Academy, Toronto, ON The most recent show was easily the best. |
