The settings for sharpness is set at 4 on the detail level clarity. I like the image sharp. I like to see the details in the texture of his jacket and design for example.

It's hard to reply because I don't know what monitor you are using to view these shots or what settings you are using on it to assume it is dynamic mode.

Feel free to post some shots and maybe I have an idea what you are using.

Hey, I did not see it as an attack and that it what these threads are for, conversating about projector shots. Looking at your speaker pics, it is difficult to tell what you are seeing in my shots because they are not overly bright or saturated. My monitor is calibrated with a Spyder 3 puck and NEC spectra view 2. I view pics in RGB and adobe RGB. So I am wondering why it looks like dynamic mode to you, thats all. I took those shots to try and replicate what I see on my screen. It might come out as bright because I try not to crush the blacks so the detail and shadows are showing in the black.

I will say, I do like my picture sharp and my blacks dark but not to the point it is clipped.

Projector shots are tough because everyone uses different monitors, resolutions and settings. I can see where your coming from because when I view my own projector shots on my iPad, they appear too sharp but when I view them on my 24 inch monitor, they look fine.

We are all here to talk even if they are disagreements, as long as their civil.

Good luck to you and hope to see some projector shots when you get it. Epson 5020 is a mighty fine projector
Love 3D technology and am addicted to it.

Thanks for the compliment Taygan

I like to do it so others can see what a good projector & screen can look like.

Will watch another movie this afternoon, Not sure which one yet but will take some more screens.

Thanks again.

Looking forward to your shots crazyBLUE.

I'll be obsessing over this thread for a few days. My Epson took a dump yesterday. Of course it had to happen on the weekend.

1000 hours in six months was a bit too much for it I guess.

Sorry to hear that ozzsoad ~ That really sucks that it stopped working so soon.

I think I am at about 900 hours but it is about 2 years for me.

Yeah, it'll be a rough week.

I used it a lot for watching TV shows and playing video games. I think I'll just be watching movies with the new one. Although, playing games on a big screen is really cool....

About one year here and I believe I am at 350 Hours. That will go up quite a bit with the NCAA tourney coming up, that is where the first 50 hours of use came from, lol.

Apparently I've enjoyed my projector a little too much. Perhaps I should go outside more often. I guess I'll have time to since I'm gonna have to wait up to 8 business days to get my new projector cause I don't have a credit card......

Oh, and great shots from crayBLUE and Ryan.

I bought mine the week of Thanksgiving and I haven't even cracked 100 hours yet, lol. Work schedule really dictates my usage. I get 1 day off a week and I only watch movies on it. Watch on average one movie a night (getting too old to stay up too late and I have to go in to work the next day). Pathetic I know.

If you game on your projector, or if you use your projector as your main tv...hours rack up quickly. My old setup (Optoma HD70), I racked up the hours very quickly. Gaming has killed the first 100h for me already.

Now, because I have my 55" plasma upstairs, I don't do a lot of regular TV watching downstairs.

But you know what guys. I know bulbs can be expensive, but enjoy what you have. put $10 a week away and before you know it you have enough for a second bulb.

Plus the jealousy of our friends is worth it.
