Just watched:

Pump Up The Volume. Next up Easy Virtue.
Elliot: He's a man from outer space and we're taking him to his spaceship.
Greg: Well, can't he just beam up?
Elliot: This is *reality*, Greg.

Ordered:

Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods: The Final Cut

£4.50 from Amazon. I've waiting to see this in-stores for a couple of quid and it's been a no-show.

Aside from the removed nudity, and the few updated effects, it's not really worth it.
Don't get me wrong. Stargate is my all time favourite franchise, but this release really was just a money grab by MGM which back fired.

The nudity was the best bit! I'd like to get the full set from the US this year, I was hoping they'd re-issue it without those awful cardboard sleeves which so many people have had issue with. But they're still making them or at least selling them!

Children of the Gods would have been nice in HD and we need an Ark of Truth release in the UK on BD!

I'm watching Atlantis each night and I'm really enjoying it although I'm close to Dr. Weir's departure (which I hated). Torri Higginson was too good to get rid of and she was a bit under-used off-world. I know the actress herself was hoping for a bit more action.

That's the reason I bought this UK set years ago. All 10 seasons, plus Continuum and Ark Of Truth in thinner cases = happy stargate fan!

Agreed, on both counts.

Torri was amazing! I was extremely "miffed" when she left. Don't get me wrong. I still loved Amanda Tapping, but Sam Carter should not have been bought in to replace Elizabeth Weir to command the Atlantis expedition.

It's £380 now! If I get the US set I'll try and make my own covers for normal cases.

Me too. I'm not 100% but I think I read that Amanda Tapping had episodes left over in her contract and it was cheaper to put her to use than pay the penalties. So she was shipped to the Pegasus galaxy.

There's a listing on Amazon for the entirety of SG-1 in new packaging.

I'd like to see what the new packaging is like, but I'm not going to rebuy the series to see it.

I thought there would be an unboxing video on YouTube, but it is actually really difficult to find unboxing videos in good quality of any of the UK sets, which I find odd since people post unboxings of other DVDs and blu-rays all the time...

Thanks. That didn't come up in my search and I wasn't aware of it. A reviewer says the French set is almost half the price. C'est la vie! I'll have to keep an eye on that!

The double DVD set of Ace Ventura 1 and 2 for my son. You know what, there has got to be a logical explanation why these films aren't on blu ray, Jim Carrey is still an amazingly popular actor. Anyone know why they haven't hit blu?
