I agree, I really thought we would get more then one special. I guess we could still get some of the 8th series but still, I wanted more.

An 8th Doctor miniseries would be awesome. We still know Paul loves to do the role and I doubt he'd turn down a chance at returning to the role for TV.

Also really wanted to see Jack return for the 50th special but with a one off special, I don't see that happening.

I'm disappointed by that too....but I kind of expected it...not much Who this year, then.

A few of us saw this coming last year... and I remember being smacked around for suggesting that we would be let down this year. I hate being right.

I still say I would rather have some Who than no Who... but I really wish they wouldn't have jerked everyone around last year by making grand promises that clearly weren't reflective of what they actually were planning.

It isn't even 100% certain we will get a Christmas special this year... although I hope they will at least do that.

Also, for a few years now I've been begging for a McGann mini-series. This year would have been a great time to do it too... something that could air during the off-time of Matt Smith's series... it would still celebrate Who and the anniversary and give us new Who stories.
Prying off your face takes practice.

Every Month BBC America is running a special on each Doctor that is three hours long. They have also been showing classic who.

I watched the special about William Hartnell and it has cast interviews. Plus, there are interviews with other Doctors (David Tennant was in this one the most) and show writers.

As much as I want to believe this, the source isn't the most reliable.

Well we now have confirmation:

The First Doctor’s final adventure The Tenth Planet is to have its lost fourth episode animated for DVD release, doctorwho.tv can exclusively reveal.

Teased yesterday at the Gallifrey One convention by Dan Hall, commissioning editor of the classic Doctor Who DVD range, The Tenth Planet sees both the introduction of the menacing, dead-eyed Cybermen, and the departure of the First Doctor, William Hartnell. The final episode has been missing from the BBC Archives since the mid-1970s, and will be reconstructed using the same Thetamation process used to recreate The Reign of Terror episodes 4 and 5.

Dan Hall said: "It’s a real thrill to be bringing such an iconic Doctor Who episode back to life. Without the events established in The Tenth Planet episode 4, there would be no Doctor Who as we know it!"

The release date is currently scheduled for late 2013.

I didn't know 3/30 was part 2. I thought it was a new season. Shouldn't the "The Snowmen" special be coming out soon? Cuz I still have it on my dvr.

The special won't get an individual release this year and will only be available in the Series 7 box set. Found out because I was searching for a release date myself, I will see if I can find the article again.

That's messed up. The past to Christmas specials had a single release.

You can't reconstruct something you don't have footage of. This is the best way to make it work, and I'm glad they're doing it.
