looking for the best passive 3d glasses around.

my vizio 3dtv came with x2 paid of 3d glasses that i dont really like. the problem is that they are not fully wrapped so the sides are letting light through or my eyes will glare off to the sides of the glasses.

I am looking for 3D glasses that are a full wrap that will not let any light through the sides. Im not sure what is good out there but these glasses IMO suck.

Got $160 go for Oakleys

thought bout them but how much difference would they really produce over the vizios. def want a closed side set of glasses. these vizios are distracting. i need to buy 3 pair.

As mentioned, Oakley glasses are the best your going to get. I tried on a pair and demoed them on a 65" Vizio 3D TV. Very effective. I know you want wrap around....not sure if I saw those.

I would shop around and try a couple cheaper pairs first, if you can afford to grab a pair of oaks you can afford a pair or 2 of some cheaper choices before totally committing.

I do own a pair of Oakley Eye Patch 2 sunglasses and I love them to death, my other 2 pairs (cheapy) are worth 10 bucks maybe and they get just as much wear - food for thought.

I don't even have a passive 3D tv but I will still tell you the Oakleys will be amazing. I have a pair of the Oakley Gascan sunglasses which are the same frame used for the Oakley 3D glasses and they are excellent glasses and do a very good job at not letting light in. But they do run $120 so you are looking at $360 for 3 pairs. Yikes!

The vizio glasses i have now thst came with my tv are junk they have. There is obvious crosstalk and the lenses while cleaning do tend to fall out. They suck

What would you say about these oakley they are rocketfish. 32.00 on amazon. They feel super comfy theres no light bleed coming from the sides. Bestbuy was asking 65.00 for them so i decided to shop around

Passive glasses don't cause crosstalk.

They do if the filters aren't good enough/are improperly installed. It's like having a shade of cyan that's too light on anaglyph glasses (and technically that doesn't even need to be a simile because anaglyph glasses ARE a form of passive 3D glasses).

The problem with the vizio glasses is that they a flimbzy and the inserts move around. Whichdoes cause the image to look weired. I may pick up those oakly rocketfish sets at bb for 60 or do u think i should grab the oakley tintin ones for 100 or the 120.00 set

If I had a passive tv I would use the green Hobbit glasses I got from the theater.

I ended up buying a pair of these on sale for 10.00 at bestbuy. So far they are great they are very solid and work great. Light and comfortable. I know there not oakleys but i do plan to buy a set

Okay, circularly polarized passive glasses. And yes, I was assuming that significant majority of their lenses aren't defective or poorly polarized or tinted with different shades.

Besides shape, size, and durability, is there actually a functional qualitative difference between the lenses you would find in Oakleys and those in a cheap (non-defective) pair from a RealD theater?
