Darrell hit the nail on the head. An IA that will drive your speakers as well as the XPA-2 is going to cost you a nice chunk of $$$. I'm not really that familiar with Mirage speakers but aren't your speakers pretty power hungry?

Here's a pre amp that's pretty small, even has a built in dac. I'm thinking of trying it myself.

Nice, Wred4sound makes some pretty nice stuff. I was looking at their server. Didn't you have a USP-1, that had htbp?

I've looked at the server quite a few times myself, still undecided which way to go on that front. Probably should have taken advantage of the Olive pricing like you did.

Spurrier's just a question and don't take it the wrong way but if it is not "critical listening" why not just use the Anthem??? I have read that is superb for music listening.......just askin.

I had a USP-1 but the Anthem is on par with it. It's not quite as detailed but close enough to not keep the USP-1.

I was going that way but a couple of people convinced me to the Mac mini route. That and a few reviews that I read about it. It did seem to be a great unit once you got the CDs ripped to it.

Not critical in I'm not trying to pin point the band. I do want the best sound I can get for a descent price.

What about those tube per amps? Is that something I want to try out or just keep it simple?

That looks pretty sweet! I like that it has a built in DAC too. How do you honk that would compare to the XSP-1? I wouldn't mind trying something different.

Nice little setup Rise23. You have the seats angled just so the back room can see as well! If your handy maybe even you could build a mobile riser platform for the back two seats just so you get that extra view and not seeing any corner of the two front seats. But sweet setup!

Having never heard either I can't say which one is going to sound better. Wyred 4 Sound has an excellent reputation for building DAC's and all the reviews of they're higher end pre amps rave about them. Both the Emo and Wyred have mostly the same features so it might be a toss up. There's only one way to find out SS!

I think for what your looking for the Wyred 4 Sound is worth some serious consideration. It's a bit more expensive but it has a built in dac and is roughly 1/4 of the size.

No they do have a limited amount of dealers but I think most of they're business is online. If you look on the main page of the site you'll see a dealer tab at the top, the dealers are listed in that section. I have no idea if one is close to you or not though.

yeah, a riser is in the works. I just moved to this new house a week ago, so it is on the way. I will post new pic's as the room evolves.

Hmmmmm, well the Wyred4sound may be what you are looking for. Tube amps are nice they give you many option in sound by changing tubes, but can get very expensive. You need to first decide on how much you want to spend then look in that category. Good luck, happy shopping.
