PowerDVD 11 Playback Issue Fix - Blu-ray Forum

My copy of PowerDVD 11 stopped working suddenly with an error saying it couldn't find local storage and eventually

If you have this issue, uninstall and re-install and update to v2608

I've put in a support ticket and will update this thread when appropriate.

Just out of interest, which Anti-virus software do you use?

I use "ESET Smart Security 4". I did what you said but it doesnt work with all BD titles, new ones like "SKYFALL" need the update to play. I started using another software called "Total Media Theatre 6" and it works great so far.

Just sent them a sh*tload of screenshots and other technical info that they asked for.

Hopefully they can narrow it down and solve it.

I can't justify shelling out more money on Blu-ray software. I originally bought Corel WinDVD Pro and that failed after a week with an AACS Key update error.

Fortunately they had a 30 day money back guarantee.

I blame Fox for requiring these updates. Couldn't play a single Star Wars disc when it came out.

I agree with the FOX thing, despite the fact that I only have very few titles from them, the Bond movies, STAR WARS movies and Batman The movie. I downloaded the trial version Power DVD 12 for SKYFALL but it was glitching so bad and made the movie so unwatchable that I had to stop and watch the dvd version!! I sure hope they fix that problem.But I found out that its good to have an alternative software for cases like this.

Thanks for the heads up about Total Media Theatre. Currently using the Trial version, seeing how long it'll take before PowerDVD get a fix or something.

I have the same problem.

Once contacted with Cyberlink i got an answer: THE PROBLEM IS THE LATEST WINDOWS UPDATE.

Please contact to Cyberlink and you will receive a link to download a patch for solve this issue.
It really works well.

It seems they realsed a new patch that fixes the problem. I download it and and it works. But it seems that "SKYFALL" is still glithing during playback, which is really weird since its a months old title and works perfectly with other sotfware players.Did anybody else fix it?

I've started using Total Media Theater. I've been having screen resolution issues with playing SD extras.

It wasn't a Windows Update. That's their excuse. Mine was working fine for several days after the previous Windows Update was installed.

Anyway, post on this thread on the Cyberlink website.

There's a possible workaround which uses the version before this latest patch but disables some of the files on Page 8 of the thread.

Your screen resolution issues are with Total Media Theater? I dont have any but I used to with WIN DVD.

No, I only just noticed the post with the potential fix today. I uninstalled PowerDVD a couple of weeks ago.

I had the same issue - today cyberlink released an update that fixed the issue...downloaded the update and now i am playing bluray again with no issues!!!

thank GOD i did not want to buy version 12!!
All is good again on my end.
