I ordered my projector tonight and where i ordered it from also sells onkyo.
The replacement for the 818 is going to be called the 929 and will be 9.2 channel, expandable to 11 at the 818 price point. Should be available to purchase around end of May early June. ![]() I did not get any more details than that. Hopefully it will continue to have xt32?

I have an Integra 50.4 and love it. Is there a way to manually switch the audio between digital and analog? I have a laserdisc player and some disc's only offer analog sound. I have to disconnect the digital cable for the reciever to find the analog signal. It was very easy to do with my Pioneer reciever, there was an analog/digital button. So there must be an easy way with this reciever.

You most likely are getting the lossless audio if you are using HDMI cable , its just being decoded in the player. You can change that if you want by setting the player to bitstream instead of PCM. It won't make a difference audio quality wise. There may be a difference in volumes but that is about it, well and it won't say muti channel at the receiver.

Do LD players not have DACs, you can't always output analog? Are you using the AVR remote to control everything or something else? || AVR - Onkyo TX-NR1009 || Amps - Emotiva XPA-2 / Emotiva LPA-1 || TV - Misubishi WD60737 || BD Player - Sony BDP-S790 || CD Player - Denon DCM-290 || Gaming - Modified PS3 Fat || Gaming - Modified Wii || Main L&R - Polk Audio Monitor 70II || Center - PolkAudio CS2II || Surround - Polk Audio Monitor 40II || Rear Surround - Polk Audio OWM3 || Front High -Polk Audio OWM3 || Subwoofer - 2 Polk Audio PSW505s || Harmony 1100 Remote ||

I only use the remote for the receiver. It seems much easier to just unplug the digital cable to receive the analog source. They probably thought in this day and age you either run digital or analog but not both from the same source. I have older video games hooked up to my receiver with only analog sound and it plays no problem. It's when theres a digital and analog source into the same input that theres a problem.

Well, I checked my BD player out and still shows it sending lossless sound and the receiver is still showing multichannel.. on cable its ok it shows DD. Im sooo confused.. I even thought maybe it was a cabling issue and got new cables. Same result. Anyone have any ideas? Im sure its something dumb Ive overlooked, but still... other than that I LOVE THIS BEAST!!

I have the Onkyo Tx-SR805 hooked up to my new PS3, when i play blu ray's it says multich pcm instead of dolby digital or DTS true hd or whatever the true source from the blu ray. Why is it reading that way? is it the PS3? Did i do something wrong. When it was hooked up to my sony Blu ray it never read Multch and i dont seen to be getting my full 7.1 anymore either

The PS3 is probably set to output PCM (the player is decoding), change it to bitstream (AVR will decode). However it makes zero difference in audio quality. As far as the 7.1 issue , I have no clue. || AVR - Onkyo TX-NR1009 || Amps - Emotiva XPA-2 / Emotiva LPA-1 || TV - Misubishi WD60737 || BD Player - Sony BDP-S790 || CD Player - Denon DCM-290 || Gaming - Modified PS3 Fat || Gaming - Modified Wii || Main L&R - Polk Audio Monitor 70II || Center - PolkAudio CS2II || Surround - Polk Audio Monitor 40II || Rear Surround - Polk Audio OWM3 || Front High -Polk Audio OWM3 || Subwoofer - 2 Polk Audio PSW505s || Harmony 1100 Remote ||

Bitstream is the compressed encoded data straight from the disc(has yet to be decoded into PCM) It is streamed to the AVR to be decoded uncompressed. PCM is already decoded uncompressed(at the player) then is sent to the AVR.
