To me - for what you want - the M-Lores are the best bet around. The fact that you need to fill multiple spaces limits your choices. And there's no such thing as a light - high spl speaker (at least I haven't found one yet p.s. It's rare that I recommend a particular speaker over another - I prefer that the person demo speakers - but if they have a particular need - I don't mind throwing a few names out

Huh do you need grills?
you have to pay extra for the grills did you know? I would not care about grills since my speakers don't have grills, they are also optional.

I went with Tekton M Lore. I will be ordering grills with them. I need at least some kind of barrier between the kids. I went with them for a few reasons:
I have been pretty happy with many of the bookshelf speakers that I have heard. They sound good. In the back of my mind I was hoping that I would hear something that would make an large impact. I was worried about getting floorstanding speakers due to safety reasons. This was partially becuase the speakers that I have are 44 inches tall and weigh about 60 lbs each. These speakers are smaller and will weigh less. I wanted speakers that would work for movies but also for music. I have been concerned that, while I have a sub in the living room with my speakers, I have a lot of room to fill. The living room runs into the dining room runs into the kitchen runs into the entry way runs into... On all sides. I wanted something that would run in direct mode (ie no subwoofer, I have noticed that there seems to be more clarity in this mode compared to others such as "Stereo") and still have plenty of presence. I am really intrigued by the higher sensitivity of the M Lore. The idea of this speaker being really dynamic and easy to drive is really cool. As prerich had pointed out that they would be able to fill the space better then a lot of speakers and almost all at this price point. Reading all of the rave reviews of this speaker really helped. Hearing how it is very musical. Seemed to fit the bill. They have a 30 day return policy so if it doe not turn out how I hoped at least there is that. But I really doubt that will be the case. I have been in contact with Eric Alexander and hopefully I should be getting an ETA sometime soon. I will keep everyone posted on the order process and delivery.

Did you order black?
Eric Alexander, the designer of these speakers, is a good guy and will answer most of your questions.

As well you should and am really looking forward to your take on it as the reviews got to me, and having used pro audio in the past, I was always a sucker for high sensitivity speakers and pro amps. There is a special "sound" for lack of a better word to them and love being able to listen at lower volumes with a full sound which is not the case of my actual Missions who ask for at least 25 w to open up.

Believe it or not, I created a thread about Tekton speakers a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, it was not very popular.
