IMDB.COM has updated the Prometheus 2 page..
That shows the script is in development...
IMDB does not update any of their pages until info has been confirmed by (Studios) etc..

So yes Prometheus 2 will be coming soon...

Imdb.com can be updated by users. Loads of future films often have misleading info about the cast and crew, for example. It's not based on official information by the studio.

Not that the Prometheus 2 script isn't being worked on, as we saw with Rapace's comments. But you shouldn't take imdb.com as an infallible guide to films in progress.

I really want to find out what happens next. Without comparing this to the Alien franchise, this is one of my favourite sci-fi epics now. The adventure must continue, I don't want the storyline to be unfinished and left a mystery. Please make it!

Don't get your hopes up. A script in development is no guarantee that anything will be made. There are thousands in development at any given time and maybe 10 percent get to production. It's more likely than most to get made but it's far from a certainty.

PROMETHEUS painted them into a narrative corner that's going to take some smart-thinking to get out of. Scott's eager to atone for the first one, I'm sure, and make it look like it was all intentional; but he's getting old, and he's got about seven or eight projects that are further down the road. Fox, for their part, will want something much more commercial this time round before they lay out the budget. My instinct is still that it won't happen but I could be wrong.

A forum member over on (Prometheus2-movie.com) called CLAUDIUS
Has just pointed out a very interesting find on (MICHEAL FASSBENDER'S wiki page....
He states that under his film credits if you scroll down there is a listing for the sequel...
Called: PROMETHEUS 2: PARADISE what's interesting is it has a release date of 2014...and it is already in pre-production..
But what's more interesting is that it also states that filming is scheduled to begin in OCTOBER..

Yeah, crapfest...That's what it was...

I think it could have been stronger, sure, but the movie was far from crap. THere are so many worse movies out there then this. The problem is in the whole 'Alien' connection, which gave people different expectations. As a standalone film, even with some of the problems it has, I think it would have been better accepted.

probably, but I can barely get through it without giggling hysterically at the screen. while it's not DTV schlock the script is near incomprehensible.

It definitely has its problems. I think some of the the deleted scenes that were on the blu-ray would have fixed parts of the film as well. But I still think the movie itself is still good, and better when you don't think about the 'Alien' connection, script problems and all.

yeah, I agree on the special features... some extra explanations could have helped a LOT. but one of my main gripes is that the film BLATANTLY ties itself with a rope to the Alien movies. I mean it's almost like some of the actors are jumping up and down with sings saying "see... this ties to ALIEN!!!!!!!!!!!!" (the ending with the credits being a big one). As much as Ridley claims it wasn't a prequel it wasn't helped by his constant tie ins to the Alien universe.

If you need things laid out for you, this will help a lot (yes, it is 28mn long, but it definitely is worth it if you are at all interested in figuring things out)..

Prometheus is not a prequel to Alien in the sense that it does not explore the same themes, the same locations or the same characters.

It is a prequel in the sense that it relates to the mystery of the engineers, and the origin of the Alien Xenomorph species.

Prometheus is about the quest for our origins and the horror of discovering a creator that is not

A) Inherently Benevolent
B) A Mystical "All Powerful and Wise" being
C) Happy with its creation

If a movie can not explain itself in it's own time period it's a failure of a film IMO. extras should be just that... extras and not have to carry the brunt of explaining a film when it failed to do so in it's allotted time frame
