Default After Earth 3D Blu-ray being released?

So I was browsing FuturShop.ca and Bestbuy.ca and I found that there is a Pre-Order available on both sites for a 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack for 'After Earth'.

Future Shop After Earth 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack Pre-Order

Best Buy After Earth 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack Pre-Order

Did anyone here anything about this?

After Earth in 3D would be really cool. Hopefully it actually is a 3D/2D combo pack release and not just an error in the listing.

I bet it is an error. This movie wasn't shot in 3D and it was a flop so I doubt they converted it.

after watching it last week, I'm really surprised this wasn't released in 3d in theaters. It look like most things were made for 3d and it would probably be a pretty straight forward conversion.

this movie would be awesome in 3d just because of the way it was filmed, the quality of the story, however is very so so.

My gut tells me it's in error as well.

HOWEVER, is it possible they are mulling over a 3D conversion to help make up for some of its loss?? I mean, they converted films that were not filmed in 3D when released (Titanic, I Robot, Gamer, Beauty and The Beast, Lion King just to name a few examples). Why couldn't they do the same for After Earth??

If the links that the OP provided (thanks by the way) turns out to be true, I want Oblivion to be the next candidate for a 3D conversion, lol.

I hope it is released, I would buy it, a 3D release is the only way I'm buying this. But of those you listed, other than Gamer, all made money. After Earth was a huge flop, so I can't imagine them investing more money into it.

Oblivion made money and was a terrific movie, so I really hope they bring out a 3D release of this.

Yes, After Earth is an acquired taste, meaning some may enjoy it, others not.
My favorite scene was the gliding scene, which would've been cool in strong 3D. It's nice to know Will Smith is great in MIB 3, as this one he played a very stoic character with little expression as the role was written I guess. A MIB 4 3D please.

Ditto!!!!! it boggles my mind why Kosinksi didn't use 3D again like he did with Tron Legacy

Unhappy No 3D for this one

Seems they are still recovering from losses, and there will be no 3D version.

I had a long conversation with Best Buy Canada about my order (made in September), where it was saying it will be available. Now it never was. And since the 2D version release day I was bugging the customer service for the order status.

Now on the web site the 3D item (still present) says it's "Out of stock".

The customer service have just accepted there will never be any in the stock ever, and cancelled my order today.

That sucks. I rewatched this on the weekend and enjoyed it a lot more second time around. On one hand it could be argued that its not a great movie, but its a fun quest movie with great visuals, despite the weak performances.
Pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip!
