Default Can someone explain Ultraviolet Vudu vs. Flixster?

I understand the basics, but here's my question. Say I have a UV copy to redeem, and it gives me the choice of redeeming it on either: Paramount digital site, Vudu, or Flixster. Which one should I pick? Why is it a choice at all if they all link up to Ultraviolet? Is one better than the others? Thanks.

doesn't really make a difference if they're UV. You can watch them on any UV service if that's the case. Many people (myself included) prefer VUDU due to streaming capabilities on video game consoles and whatnot. Some people prefer using the actual site on the code for the best chance at getting extras/extended editions, but I prefer to use mine on Vudu so that I don't have to give out so much personal information to so many different sites.

It is best to use the studio link if possible. You can get extras. If something goes wrong with redeeming then they can quickly fix it unlike VUDU or Flixster. Once the code is in your UV locker it will be visible on all the sites, unless it specific to a certain site.

I also try to go through the studio site when possible. Not only is that sometimes the only way to get extended/unrated editions but it is the only way to open up the option to download a copy of the movie directly from the studio. Vudu and Flixster enable you to download copies but I like to have as many options as I can.

However, it's important to note that redeeming through the studio or Vudu is not always the best option. For instance, redeeming through Flixster was the only way to get the unrated cut of Hansel & Gretal for a time:

I just bought a Man of Steel UV code and it wouldn't redeem on Vudu, which is the service I use.

The guy who sold it to me said it can only be redeemed on Flixster.

Does that sound right?

Why could I redeem it on Vudu?

...I can't even think the Flixster link is available through my blu-ray player.

Yeah sometimes codes can only be redeemed through a single service like Flixster depending on maybe where they bought the DVD/Blu-ray the code was packaged with or if the code previously had a double redemption glitch.

For that Man of Steel code, if it's a Flixster-only redeem just make sure you have your Flixster account connected to the same Ultraviolet account as your Vudu account. It should transfer to Vudu shortly after you redeem it on Flixster.

I believe that is one of the movies where the code would double redeem so it's probably been redeemed through Vudu, but the Flixster redemption is still available.

It's UV at both services so link the Flixster account and Vudu account both to UV and it should be available on both services after redeeming at Flixster.
