Yeah I guess I'm going to import it too. Kind of feels like the early days of BD3D when certain titles were more elusive than others

I'd wait until you at least have confirmation that its all regions. Disney is getting a little more protective plus if you have issues with a UK disc in the US you are going to be up the creek without a paddle.
4k... really? The law of diminishing returns is fully in sight.

So weird all this talk about the US not getting a 3D release on blu. The UK one still seems scheduled.
Pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip!

Honest question and I don't mean to start a firestorm here but, if the UK version turned out to be Region B, couldn't you just rip and burn it to a blank blu-ray getting rid of the region requirement or is that considered piracy for some reason? Thanks.

No, it isn't. It's the same exact same disc.
I can't handle any more Zavvi exclusive SteelBooks.

Per the copyright and piracy laws, yes, it is piracy, and illegal reverse engineering, among other issues.

Thanks Taygan for posting that info.
If there will be a Best Buy 3D version of Frozen, I wonder why they'd say "no information"? A new TV ad just showed the other day and it said Frozen is the best and at the end, "In 3D".

If you try the order link people used on the BestBuy page you no longer can order Frozen 3D. It states: "We're sorry, this item is no longer available."

Bummer. Thanks Paul.

Disney has been more cautious lately, probably from losing profits with John Carter and The Lone Ranger, plus paying out for the rights to Star Wars. One could imagine Disney would have a near endless well of funds, but who knows.

As I've said before, can't they just make a single Blu-ray that gives you the option to watch the movie in 2D or 3D? Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Paranorman, and my recent purchase, Khumba all have a 2D and 3D option contained on one Blu-ray disk. Disney could give at least the option to watch it the way you want without them having to invest more money in a separate 3D Blu Ray disk.

But that would lesson the demand for Frozen 3Ds streaming Disney is starting on February 25th. BOYCOTT!

Disney's mistake is releasing 3D as a separate edition. Apparently, there just wasn't enough of a demographic to financially justify doing that. However, if they release just one blu ray edition with a 3D option included on the same blu-ray, then they're getting both the majority 2D demographic AND the minority hardcore 3D enthusiasts as well. That's the pitch we need to communicate to these companies and remind them that glass-free 3D TVs are just around the corner, meaning there is still a long term commitment by TV manufacturers to a 3D option.

From Amazon UK about $33. Could be less if the price goes down before release date. At the moment, there doesn't appear to be a release date in the UK and Germany, and France don't list one either. I will most likely be a month or more after the US release. Just guessing though.

I agree about a single 2D/3D disc, with the 3D being an option for the 2D buyer. Will it happen from Disney? Probably not. Sony does it though.
Dredd 3D was on a single edition 2D/3D disc, and that worked out well, but some resolution diehards argue that there is a noticeable difference when they try to squeeze everything onto one disc, as they do with Resident Evil Afterlife, etc. I can't see a difference on a Sony Bravia and a Vizio.
