Thanks Taygan for posting that info.
If there will be a Best Buy 3D version of Frozen, I wonder why they'd say "no information"? A new TV ad just showed the other day and it said Frozen is the best and at the end, "In 3D".

If you try the order link people used on the BestBuy page you no longer can order Frozen 3D. It states: "We're sorry, this item is no longer available."

Bummer. Thanks Paul.

Disney has been more cautious lately, probably from losing profits with John Carter and The Lone Ranger, plus paying out for the rights to Star Wars. One could imagine Disney would have a near endless well of funds, but who knows.

As I've said before, can't they just make a single Blu-ray that gives you the option to watch the movie in 2D or 3D? Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Paranorman, and my recent purchase, Khumba all have a 2D and 3D option contained on one Blu-ray disk. Disney could give at least the option to watch it the way you want without them having to invest more money in a separate 3D Blu Ray disk.

But that would lesson the demand for Frozen 3Ds streaming Disney is starting on February 25th. BOYCOTT!

Disney's mistake is releasing 3D as a separate edition. Apparently, there just wasn't enough of a demographic to financially justify doing that. However, if they release just one blu ray edition with a 3D option included on the same blu-ray, then they're getting both the majority 2D demographic AND the minority hardcore 3D enthusiasts as well. That's the pitch we need to communicate to these companies and remind them that glass-free 3D TVs are just around the corner, meaning there is still a long term commitment by TV manufacturers to a 3D option.

From Amazon UK about $33. Could be less if the price goes down before release date. At the moment, there doesn't appear to be a release date in the UK and Germany, and France don't list one either. I will most likely be a month or more after the US release. Just guessing though.

I agree about a single 2D/3D disc, with the 3D being an option for the 2D buyer. Will it happen from Disney? Probably not. Sony does it though.
Dredd 3D was on a single edition 2D/3D disc, and that worked out well, but some resolution diehards argue that there is a noticeable difference when they try to squeeze everything onto one disc, as they do with Resident Evil Afterlife, etc. I can't see a difference on a Sony Bravia and a Vizio.

Word of caution: Only Blu-ray.com lists the March 31, 2014 release date.
The actual Amazon.co.uk site states :

This title has not yet been released.
You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives.
Apparently Disney hasn't given the UK a firm posted "delivery date".

It also doesn't list it on the 2D edition. One of the other Frozen threads had someone contact Disney UK, who said that Disney UK mentioned both standard and 3D BDs. Disney UK can screw people over, but they have their bright spots sometimes, i.e. Oz 3D release.

EDIT: Another tell is that the cover art for the 3D edition is done as to not crop out any detail. Any fan cover would just do a crop and leave-it job. Disney US provided no cover art for Frozen 3D prior to the Digital 3D announcement, right?

The Tech shows I watch "HD Nation" & "The Tech Guy" are calling 3D dead. Reports from CES is a lot of manufactures are pulling 3D from new TV's, an alarming trend. Lots of people pushing 4K which doesn't even have a standard yet.

HD Nation also said there were still displays with 3d glasses setup. They were just saying 4k is the new trend. Time will tell.......I still love 3d as do most of us here!

Ok. You use two Revision Webisode shows to state 3D is dying? You apparently don't do your own research. Companies like LG, Sony, Toshiba, and Samsung all have new 4K + 3D panels releasing this year. There will always be stripped down models available. Just because a company focuses on another tech, doesn't mean the other is going away.

On another note, I have imported several 3D films from the UK, but never Disney. Do they have slips on their 3D releases?

One manufacturer, Vizio, has pulled active & passive 3D from their line-up this year, while also showcasing at CES 2014 a Dolby 3D auto-stereoscopic display they are developing in collaboration with Dolby. Far from "calling 3D dead".
