The press released stated the Mickey short is on it, and Disney is region free.

Ordered it from the UK.

This is unbelievable. I love 3D blu ray and until this moment loved to support Disney. they have produced some stellar releases.

Sadly the all-digital future will happen; i'll go kicking and screaming into it unless it is more like the HD audio I purchase - FLAC/ALAC/DSD; highest quality without bizarre DRM schemes.

I'd be tempted for the 3D digital version if it were literally the same quality as bluray with no audio compromise. I didn't build a 7.1 HT in the house to play inferior quality.

---

also sent disney a note for what that's worth. everyone should let them know this is unacceptable.

can't tell you how much my family enjoys 3D movies on our Panasonic Plasma and Oppo BDP-105

Still, with "[Region Free]" in the title and the Spanish 3D cover, not to mention 3D releases elsewhere in Region A (add Brazil to Taiwan & Mexico), the odds of Amazon UK being wrong this time seem very slim.
BD players: PS3 Slim 250GB; Sherwood BDP-5004 (region-free); HP P7-1010 (w/ LG WH12LS38K, AMD HD 6570, Hanns-G HL227, Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers, TMT 6, PDVD 11)

But still possible, the UK release of the Jungle Book said region free up until it actually shipped, then suddenly the listing changed to region B,C

What was even more agrivating about that was that when the US release came that one is Region Free.

But yeah I am at this point more inclined to believe that its ABC since there are some areas of region A getting the 3D release.

I certainly was thinking of The Jungle Book when I said "this time". I've long said to never fully trust any Amazon site on region coding; though that usually involves the region box in the stats (i.e., shows region-locked when it's region-free), IIRC I've also seen them put " Region Free" in the description while ignoring PAL/50Hz issues (zero chance here). Still, there's more than just Amazon UK's word, and even the other Region A editions, to suggest they're right this time (i.e., Spanish back cover); even if they're wrong the monkey is on their back (see The Jungle Book).

Hate to ask again...I'm sure it's already been answered. Is the UK 3D release region free?

It has not been confirmed by any users as nobody has gotten their copy or released any information besides Amazon UK listing that it's Region Free.

I wish they would stop this mess and just release awesome 3D BDs all the time.

Quite frankly, this really is a bi+(# move on Disney's part. It would be one thing if there was no other 3D BD release, but for Disney to release it in so many other countries and give the US the shaft is really unacceptable. Shame on you Disney.

I'd be ok with them having us pay a little bit more to get access to the Digital 3D version through Disney, but I don't think paying over $30.00 for it through Vudu is going to fly. I would ultimately rather have it available both digitally and physically rather than one or the other, but I'll take it.
Be careful on Vudu 3D, only a couple of Blu-ray players work for their 3D streaming. I know the hard way with refund.

And guess what if you go to Vudu and shop for devices, check 3D on left , it shows only 2 LG Blu-ray players that will work with VUDU 3D. And Walmart is listed as seller, but when you click on either one, not in stock or not available at this time. They are older machines. I have a top of line Panasonic and I ordered a 3D movie from Vudu one time, it would not work, and had to hassle with refund.
