The Forbidden Kingdom Blu-ray Discussion Thread - Blu-ray Forum

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that they are bringing the Jet Li and Jackie Chan film 'Forbidden Kingdom' to Blu-ray on September 9th, day-and-date with the DVD release. No technical specs have been announced for the release at this time, which will come as a two-disc set.

I think this movie should have come out sooner than that, like in August. Although, not the best Jackie chan and Jet Li collaboration, it still look alright. Either way, can't wait to see it.

We all want to see a non family friendly Li/Chan movie .. but this is still a really good movie. Hopefully they do a movie sometime before it is too late that is more like their 80s / early 90s movies.

Earlier would be better because Sept is going to be a blu-ray wallet buster month... Record month for me unless we go on strike in sept. Might have to be pickier about what I buy.

Mine shipped yesterday from DVDPacific.

On a side note, the movie page here still needs to be updated by Marwin for Cast and Crew.

HighDefDigest have updated their specs for this disc: AVC video and DTS-HD MA 7.1 on a bd-50

Checked with two friends who ordered it through DVDPacific and none has had theirs shipped yet. Small rant though with expedited shipping. It is pretty darn slow to get something from them for the price paid for shipping.

I usually get it shipped through USPS and receive it in about 3-4 days. I haven't used their expedited shipping. My shipment is scheduled to arrive at my door on Friday.

I think they just changed their shipping charges this week.

Is there customs often ?

They always have the blu-ray several days before the release date ?

I have a problem :

When i want to order on Tower.com, i have this message, (after completing my order : Forbidden Kingdom on blu-ray) :

"The card you have entered is not 3D secure enrolled. Please provide a 3D secure credit card or a credit card issued by a US institution to complete your order. "

What can i do ? is someone already had this problem ? how can i fix it ?

I have noticed that Tower.com is shipping most of the titles before amazon. I might have to start ordering from them.

i ordered this monday the 25th and it shipped that day. interestingly tower.com shows it as a 9/2 preorder. anyways who cares as long as i get it by tomorrow lol almost 2 weeks earlier than release.

Got it today. I popped it in and watched some scenes. The PQ is great. The detail on the armor is amazing. I love the close up of the Monkey King's staff. The audio says "7.1 DTS HD Master Audio" for those who are interested.

Just got through watching it and I really liked it. Also, had more humor than I expected (actually, a little too silly at times) but overall, I thought it was really good.

Thought it looked and sounded great. Some of the scenes are breathtaking visually.
