You should be in Inception then!

It was an overrated piece of mess. I mean, it was decent (which is why I still own it), but it's definitely not worth the hype.

Well maybe not my worst blind buy of all time, but definitely of late is Cloud Atlas. I just wasted an hour of my day trying to get into this movie that jumps around from one time frame to another, never really making any sense or staying long enough to care about the characters.

I blind buy all the time, and I've been quite happy with my results thus far.
Like others have said, it's a lot like paying for a ticket to the theater.
I love the idea of seeing a movie for the first time on BD!

The only two purchases I've ever regretted were...

X-Men Origins: Wolverine ($8)

I was so hyped up after falling in love with The Wolverine (2013), that I couldn't pass up Best Buy's recent sale on this film. I figured that there's no way this could be as dreadful as everyone makes it out to be. I mean hell, I LIKE DAREDEVIL DIRECTOR'S CUT... how bad could this be? Foolish, stupid me. At least it's almost entertainingly bad... almost.

Scenes From A Mall ($7)

I drove way out of my way to check out a Disc Replay store and didn't want to leave empty handed. I saw this on the shelf and had just read about it on the site a while back. I mean, it stars Woody Allen - it's gotta be funny, right? WRONG. VERY WRONG. Talk about a film where nothing happens, and I generally enjoy films people say that about! There's not a single memorable gag in the entire flick, and I never realized how much I disliked Bette Midler before.

I wish I would've taken that combined $15 and bought myself a good movie. Live and learn, I guess.

The Green Hornet, I got so tired of Seth Rogen's obnoxious A$$ of a character I was waiting for Kato (Jay Chou, who was very good) to punch him in the face and kick his nads into his kidneys . He totally ruined the movie.

I rarely blind-buy now-a-days unless it's a sci-fi movie for about as cheap as a rental would be. Back in the early DVD days I blind-bought all the damn time though, like an idiot. My worst was probably Meet the Parents. I barely like modern comedies, don't like Ben Stiller and thought the trailer looked terrible. I have no idea why I put it in my cart that Tuesday. Desperation for something new I guess.

Oh the early days...

I dont do blind-buying very often and when I do I always know Im going to like it a lot anyway.

Except for one which slipped through the net and got sold on as fast as possible after I endured watching it -

The Place Beyond the Pines. Oh its good for the first 40 mins or so without being great and then it goes downhill for the next 2 hours. The last half hour particularly was very hard word, clock-watching central.

Most boring movie ever (aside from Twilight). Horrible acting, boring plot, could not give it to my sister fast enough. Ewww.

Sounded great and gets a lots of praise. It had potential but it wasn't funny at all. The gore and kill scenes were kind of creative but too over the top. The story was stupid. At least it was only $5
