Thanks, don't know how I missed that.

Not sure how I feel about the Prestige line, I feel like they could have introduced that line perhaps in between Monitor and Studio but then they wouldn't be able to charge Studio-level pricing. It looks very nice, but the Studio 100v5 line is simply gorgeous.

Well, Paradigm still shows the Studio line on their website. The local, longtime high-end store(around since at least the 80's), says the Prestige line is ONLY a new line that goes in-between the Signature and the Studio lines. Does anybody actually have proof that the studio line is disappearing and the Prestige is replacing it?

Buyers on avs are reporting, whatever stock was left is already back - ordered.
Be a long shot for any dealer to add anyone, if at all.

Sig series might have an upgrade upcoming soon.
(No definite source, sure seems likely) with paradigm enlisting the Prestige line.

I was originally worried that the Monitor 11 would sound like the B+W 683, which to me was very clinical and uninvolving compared to the CM series. I don't know what upper level B+W speaker technology trickled down to the 600 series, but it's not much to absolutely nothing. The Monitor 11's actually sound better than the 10+ year old Studio 40's I did have. Of course the studio 40 was not a 3-way/full range design, but even with the Paradigm PW-1100 sub to round out the low end, that setup just doesn't match these towers. I'm actually rather impressed at what Paradigm has here at the entry level.

Default cc-590 or cc-690

Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading my center channel speaker. I have upgraded my 2 front speakers to B&W cm10. I wanted to get the B&W cmc2 s2, but I have read some post that B&W don't really make good center channel speakers?

I saw the cc-390 online. It is huge! I couldn't find any cc-390 online, but did see some cc-590 vs cc-690. I know that many people recommend to stay in the same brand and line of speakers which is the cmc2 s2. Any of you guys mixed different brands?

Stay within the same brand and line if you can especially in the L C R.
I have in the past played with different center channel speakers between my L/R.
During casual listening you probably won't notice a difference but pans across the front sound stage will sound different IF you're listening for it.

I am wanting to get Monitor 11's and another Centre 3 so I can move my Monitor 9's to my living room. I have Monitor 9's and while I'm not an audiophile, I think they're great.

I checked out your gallery, which is very nice btw, and think that you would be stepping down a bit if you were to get into the Monitor line.
If I were you had the funds, I'd be all over the Studio 100's and and a 690 before they're gone.

personally, i think that the term "audiophile" is a bit of a snob term or at least can be. if your ears tell you it sounds good, and you really feel it in your heart & soul, that's all that matters. don't put yourself down because you don't think your an "audiophile".

i'm not one either, but, i know when i hear something that sounds good to me and sounds like you do too!

Actually, now the I have the Monitor 11's, I can safely say they sound a lot better than the old Studio 40's. My local stereo store said they couldn't get the Studio anymore, and while the Prestige 75's I heard sounded very nice, their price was not in my budget.

Wow, really? That's cool!
I have read a couple of reviews on the Monitor 11's and is why I am wanting them.
Congrats on getting 'em!

Just ordered the CC690 earlier this week. Canadian dealers will take orders for Studio series up until the end of the month. Most of the local dealers in Vancouver already stopped taking orders for Studios and moved on to the Prestige series. For any Canadian folks that want to order Studios, better do it soon.

I have Monitor 11v4s for fronts and Monitor 11v5s for my rears and am VERY happy with them. I keep the 4s as the fronts as my centre is the CC-370v4 so the drivers are identical across the front soundstage.
