Fair enough. You'll have lots of good watching sometime in 2015....++

Complete set will probably just be a cardboard wrapper around the existing 7 season releases anyway.

I've seen every episode when they were first run, but it's almost impossible to watch reruns today because the PQ is unbearable.

I highly doubt that will be the case.

I highly doubt that will be the case.
The unbearable pq of the old video is why you should buy the new.++

Since for TOS it was just the bundled sets, and since they are put out by the same company, it's highly likely that that's all we'll get.

Why? The complete series of DS9, Voyager, TOS and TOS on blu ray are all just a cardboard wrapper on the normal season releases. The only set that had unique packaging was the TNG one, and it came out a long time after the original sets.

At $31, I'm going for it. I was holding out for the full set, but I figure that it'll probably just be a bundle anyway, and if not, then I'll just pawn off the used seasons.

I don't think you'll regret it. This set is a steal at $31. I feel like I got my full money's worth at $60.

26 episodes is the equivalent of about a dozen movies.

A three episode "mini marathon," which is as long as most movies, costs less than 4 bucks at the current price.

That wouldn't be a steal it if wasn't a good show. But it's a very good show. As everyone knows, it took some time for them to find hit their stride, but even the first season has several episodes that I've watched more than once since I got the set, including....

Encounter at Farpoint (Entertaining to see where it all started. Awkward at times, but good cast and good FX.)
The Last Outpost (This first Farengi episode is interesting and weird)
Where No One Has Gone Before (Some cool fx and interesting if goofy ideas.)
The Battle (This early Picard episode is almost a classic imho.)
Datalore (Strange episode that sets up a lot of stuff.)
Home Soil (Interesting terraforming episode.)
Heart of Glory (The start of the Klingon arc.)
Coming of Age (Good Starfleet Academy episode.)
The Arsenal of Freedom (Perhaps my favorite episode in the first season?)
Conspiracy (The closest to a horror movie that they got?)

Some of the others are good too. But for my favorites, I've actually watched some of them 3-4 times in the two years I've had the set.

But, all that having been said, I suggest that you or anyone else getting this set skip the awful Code of Honor.

I was never a fan of Code of Honor, but season one has a ton of classics, like The Naked Now.

Blu has been good to Trek. I've been watching the films (for the first time) and I love the PQ.

The official amazon one was on backorder, so I ordered the $33.99 one that is fullfilled by Amazon. I hope it is the new discs, and a slip would be great.

Well no slip, but it does have the yellow UPC. Wonder if anyone wants to git rid of theirs.

My order came in through Amazon today with no slipcover. Oh well it was a good price! What's wrong with the yellow UPC though? Isn't that the fixed version? Mine has a yellow UPC.
