just bought this TV today along with 2 pairs of Samsung SSG-4100GB glasses. I have been trying to pair them for 3 hours with no luck. Am I missing something? Directions say to essentially press the button on the glasses and place the glasses within a few feet of the set, which I have tried, over and over again with no pairing. Hopefully I'm just being lame and am missing a step. PLEASE!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!
Also, I'm waiting for my 3D BD player to arrive in the mail, so I'm just trying to connect the glasses to watch some 2D to 3D converted OTA HD channels I am currently running my HTPC thru my Onkyo 507 (All my current components are HDMI 1.3) Would the lack of HDIM 1.4 components prevent the pairing of the glasses via bluetooth? I'm guessing not, but just a thought.

First thing's first. Did the Samsung glasses have the Full HD 3D Glasses initiative logo anywhere on the box (Logo on their website http://www.fullhd3dglasses.com/ ) or was there any indication of compatibility with other 3D TVs of their type. If yes, then there has to be something wrong with the glasses or the TV. If no, you should return them, since they'll ONLY work with Samsung 3D TVs.
AFAIK, the use of HDMI doesn't affect the 3D glasses.

Just went out and bought a pair of Panny TY-ER3D4MU glasses, and they don't sync either. Must have a faulty TV on my hands...I've got The Geek Squad coming out Monday, hope they can figure it out.
