I have a Samsung Smart TV 50 inch and the last little while I watch TV my TV freezes for about 10 to 15 seconds. I checked to see if my TV needs an update to see if that's the problem, nope, it's up to date.

What else could be the problem?

Need help please.

I've tried setting my Samsung TV to Movie mode and decided to tweak the Backlight and Contrast to my preferred settings then I hit Apply to Current Source. But then if I stop the disc or turn off the TV and play the disc it goes back to what it was before (just Backlight to 20 and Contrast to 100 ONLY) and doesn't retain or save my settings. Everything else like Color, Color Tint, etc stays the same. It used to save the settings but I have no clue what happened now. Could it be because the BD player was switched to RGB color output, would that make a difference? It was set to YCbCr before. Apply Current Source is not working for Backlight or Contrast, I set them at a preferred number then it reverts it back all the way up when powered on. Very weird.

Please help. Thank you in advance.

Good Day,

I am a newbie to this forum (or to any forum). Please forgive me if I come off like a "goof". If possible, I am hoping to improve my picture quality, although the settings I use now give me the feel of being in the movie (most of the time). Any experts out there who have the same TV, please share with me.

NOTES:
1. I have over 1,000 blu-rays in my collection (from monsters to musicals, silents to modern), so I have been tweaking my TV over a few months to get the "best average" (?).
2. On certain black and white films there is a graininess, perhaps a second setting may be needed for these films.
3. Sometimes there is a "jerkiness" (fast action). Can this be remedied, or is this how some blu-rays are?
4. I am no expert, so I am here to seek help.

I believe this is where we share settings for plasma TV's, so here are my settings for my Samsung 60" Plasma.

Model Code: PN60F5300BFXZC
Version No: TS02
Self calibrated, as mentioned in my note #1
Input: HDMI
Source: Sony all regions blu-ray player
Lighting: Very dim

Picture Mode: Standard
Cell Light: 20
Contrast: 70
Brightness: 69
Sharpness: 74
Color: 42
Tint (G/R): G50 R50

Advanced Settings
Dynamic Contrast: High
Black Tone: Darkest
Flesh Tone: 0
RGB Only Mode: Off
Color Space: Auto
White Balance: Not used
Gamma: 0
Motion Lighting: Off

Picture Options
Color Tone: Cool
Digital Clean View: Auto
MPEG Noise Filter: Auto
HDMI Black Level: Function is not available
Film Mode: Cinema Smooth
Black Optimizer: Dark Room

As a movie fan, we all want the best picture possible, so let us share our knowledge. Thank you to anybody who can help.

P.S. To the moderator of this thread, please edit this as you see fit.
