Just ordered from Amazon yesterday morning and arrived later that evening with a slipcover to boot despite being an older release. Amazon Prime same day shipping for just $3.99. Amazing how fast they can get items out. Looking forward to watching it with the kids on Thanksgiving.

I have Tangled 3d, Lion king 3d, Frozen 3d, frankenweenie 3d and Wreck it Ralph 3d. All are great movies and they all use 3d well, even the lion king, which has some of the best depth 3d i have ever seen. In general i find you cant really go wrong with disney's 3d blu rays.

I find Disney's use of 3D relatively disappointing. The best one's I own are Lion King & Finding Nemo, but they pale in comparison to Dreamworks and the Sammy's.

Tangled and Wreck It Ralph has really good 3D.

If you can look for other studio

Madagascar 3, imo has the best 3D effects for animated film.
Despicable Me 2 and Croods were also incredibly good.

Honestly, all of the animation in 3D looks incredible. (maybe not for Tintin, I was little underwhelmed for that)
I however, am not really fan of 2D animation converted to 3D like Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. The background on those look absolutely incredible and works really well since Disney makes those animation with multi-plane background. You really see the difference in depth really well on the background. But 3D effect on the characters just look weird to me.

Not Disney, but I thought Scorsese's Hugo was really good. My daughter is almost old enough to watch it.

Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King looked incredible. The Little Mermaid was good but the undersea scenes did not accommodate the 3D well. It still looks amazing but not the same as the other two. Brave was beautifully done and was very entertaining. Frozen and Maleficent need to imported but both are incredible in 3D. Waiting for UK Big Hero 6 3D. Up 3D was great. Cars in 3D also great. Monsters University and Monsters Inc look great in 3D. The reboot Alice in Wonderland in 3D is spectacular. One of my all time favorites has to be The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D. I like a Christmas Carol 3D but it scared he crap out of my 11 year old niece.

Oh Tangled 3D. The floating lanterns scene is breathtaking and adds to the emotion of the scene when you see the scope of the ceremony from the added 3D perspective

Yeah, that's one of the most impressive uses of the tech that I've seen.

I agree 100% - though there are momentary exceptions (like Tangled's lanterns) Disney 3D is generally disappointing. You have to remember that each Disney 3D release has had to be approved by old men who absolutely hate 3D - their job is to scale it back and make it less "in your face".

The two Sammy's films and the House Of Magic are easily the top three animated features for 3D, nobody with two functioning eyes can deny that. The 3D in A Turtle's Tale makes Finding Nemo's 3D look like an absolute joke.

For me, Dreamworks most impressive 3D movie is Madagascar 3 but the How To Train Your Dragon films, Rise Of The Guardians etc are all Disney-beaters too.
